There is a rather new device that might be nice for this (battery, usb, wifi, cheap) - Hame MPR-A1 , and it is possible to get openwrt running there : https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=37002&p=13 . It costs between 15-25$ (I got it for around 15 pounds). 4MB flash, 16MB ram - you mention that tor does not fit on 4MB and needs microsd from 3g dongle - would you be able to provide some estimates on how big it gets (tor) ? I have openwrt running on this hame router, and there is till around 1.3MB free, will it fit (I still have applying your patches on my todo list) ?
