I take photos on weekends and self-host pretty much everything else. A while back I wanted to cull a few thousand shots in my Nextcloud library and realized there was no good way to rate them — no stars, no flags, nothing that survived if I moved the files elsewhere.

So I built StarRate. It does one thing: lets you rate and flag photos in Nextcloud with the same keyboard shortcuts you'd use in Lightroom, and writes everything into the file's XMP metadata. Move the photo, switch tools, back it up somewhere else — the ratings come with it.

What sponsorship means to me

It's mostly a nights-and-weekends project, and honestly the thing I enjoy most is hearing from other photographers who actually use it. Sponsorship lets me spend more of those nights on new features and less on saying „maybe next month" to bug reports.
