This snapshot uses Common Crawl only. No live crawl or AI calls.
The free Website Authority Checker estimates a domain’s relative strength from public Common Crawl link-graph ranks. It returns our own AIGROW Authority Score, from 0 to 100, with the source rank and edition. This estimate does not predict search rankings or whether an AI assistant will recommend your business.
How the authority estimate works
- Public data, stored locally
- This snapshot uses Common Crawl only. We keep its top two million domain positions by harmonic centrality, a measure of connectivity in the observed link graph. Tranco popularity data is not included. This is a limited public-data lookup, not a complete backlink index.
- One domain, not one page
- We check the registrable domain, using the public suffix list. A URL such as shop.example.co.uk/page is checked as example.co.uk. Paths and subdomains do not get separate scores. The lookup does not visit your website.
- A score you can reproduce
- The Common Crawl rank is scaled logarithmically between 100 at rank one and 0 at the stored cutoff, then rounded to a whole number. Compare scores using the same source edition and stored cutoff.
- Missing data stays missing
- A domain outside the stored range gets no score. This means we did not find enough links in this lookup, not that the domain has no backlinks. The result shows the Common Crawl edition, stored cutoff and whether a rank was found.
Source score formula: 100 * (1 - ln(rank) / ln(cutoff))
