Yes, I believe Claymore manga is worth the read. It fixes the horrible last few episodes of anime and continues in the highly adrenaline action ride that Claymore was for the first +-20 episodes. It also has quite satisfying end.
Last thing you said is very important to me. Also the majority of reviews are quite positive, with the only flaw of being stretched out in some arcs.

As more and more years pass by, the likelyhood of 2nd season drops and drops, therefore the more reason to read the manga which is complete.
I gave up on the whole "when is the second season coming" thing, when I realized there won't be a Haruhi Season 2 in the early 2010s.

Oh wow, you seem quite passionate about it, but unless a majority of (paying) Japanese otaku isn't interested, production companies won't pick it up and I guess a mere kickstarter projekt won't suffice.
Claymore Manga has ended. Nice story. Great characters.
I only recently finished the anime and I guess there won't be a second season, ever. Is the manga really worth it? I rarely continue the manga after the anime, similar case when AoT season 1 ended in 2013 I just didn't enjoy reading the manga.

I'd love to see more on this anime... By the end I was quite attached to clare. I'd like to see where life takes them both. I feel the story's pretty much over though at that point.
I have actually read manga, but only because Claymore was my top 1 anime for a long time, and I know the endind in anime is messed up - that's why I still hope they fix it up with second season or bunch of OVAs...and even if they don't, I'd still prefer anime (which was perfectly made in each way) because I am an anime fan in the first place and nearly don't read mangas cuz they are not that enjoyable for me.
Hey sup' guys?! This club is kinda dead, don't you think so. It's a bit shame since Claymore is such a precious anime piece. So I'm starting new unofficial poll here in shoutbox: How many times have you seen Claymore? Starting with myself - I've seen it 4 times, and now it's your turn. Don't dissapoint me
Shoutbox
