Guns and knives in action with a group of mercenaries fighting together. This is very similar to Black Lagoon, but this anime is much more mature. It is unrealistic, with people standing on the top of cars going at full speed, or feeling the presence of foes too far to be seen, or running straight at a machine-gun without getting scratched... But at least we are spared the ridiculous extravaganzas of Black Lagoon: no flying boat, no Victorian maid with guns... Jormungand is a bit excessive, but not stupid.
I found this anime enjoyable for its action (though too much unrealistic) and characters (though they sometimes look like products customized for the market), but I was disappointed with the plot. Most stories were shallow, even those that spanned over 2 episodes. One arc even attempts to show the shady politic in arms trade, but completely fails.
