App privacyQuiet Grids, Android gameLast updated 9 October 2026, for backup and purchases
What Quiet Grids does with your data.
The game itself sends us nothing. Your coins, your streak, your finished puzzles, your best times and the board you are halfway through are stored on your phone. If Google backup is enabled and Android makes a backup, this data can be included in your Google backup. Android can also copy it directly when you transfer to a new phone. We do not receive these copies. The game does show adverts, and the advert library is Google's. That library does collect data, and this page says exactly what.
This policy covers the Android game only. The privacy policy for arling.sk covers the website and is a separate document.
- Accounts
- There are none. The game has no ARLing account or sign-in. If you contact support, we receive the information you send us.
- Our servers
- The game does not upload gameplay or purchase records to an ARLing server. Its privacy and support links open our website in your browser.
- Advertising
- Google Mobile Ads and Google's consent form, and nothing else.
- Purchases
- Optional, from version 0.1.5, through Google Play. We never see your payment details. Coins are also earned by playing.
1Who we are
Quiet Grids is made and published by ARLing s. r. o., Ivanská cesta 19112/32E, 821 04 Bratislava, Slovakia, company ID 56583486. We are the controller of the small amount of data described here. Write to support@arling.sk about anything on this page.
2What stays on your phone
Coins, which papers and pens you own and which of them you chose, your streak and any rest day in hand, how many puzzles of each kind you have finished, how many you finished without Check, Hint or Open 1, your best time for each kind at each level, the boards you have started and the time you have spent on them, and your settings. All of it lives in the app's own storage. From version 0.2.1 Android backup can include the game's quietgrids.xml file, including purchase tokens already credited and ownership flags for purchased products. Recovery requires a backup that Android actually made and restores; enabling backup alone does not guarantee recovery. Android can also copy this file directly when you choose to transfer data from your old phone. The copy goes to Google under your Google account's backup settings, not to us, and you can switch it off in Android's settings under Google, Backup. Advertising choices, Google's consent records, advert counters and advertising library files are excluded from the backup and device transfer. On the new installation, Google checks consent status again and a form is shown if required. Without backup, uninstalling the game removes all of it. We never see any of it.
The game also stores advertising counters: completed boards, the time and board count of the last full screen advert, today's advert count, the last rewarded advert and purchase times, streak-rescue counts and the installation day. Those counters exist so that there are fewer adverts, not more, and they stay on your phone too. They are not part of the backup.
The game has no account, no cloud save of its own (Android's backup above is Google's), no chat and no leaderboard. It does not read your contacts, photos, files, microphone, camera or location.
Purchases through Google Play. Version 0.2.1 supports optional purchases through Google Play Billing: three coin packs, Remove ads and The whole archive. The archive offer appears only when at least 100 additional archive days remain locked and Google Play provides its price. Versions before 0.1.5 sell nothing. Nothing is bought unless you tap a price, and the price shown is the one Google Play gives for your country. The game asks Google Play for prices and purchases when the billing connection opens. On return to the game and when you tap Restore purchases, an existing connection checks purchases again; reconnecting also refreshes prices. Purchase information is not uploaded to ARLing.
Google Play handles the payment. We never see your card, bank details, name or address. When you buy, Google Play hands the app a receipt signed by Google: the product, an order number and a purchase token. The app checks that signature on the phone, writes the coins or the unlock into the app's own storage described above, and tells Google Play the purchase has arrived. The receipt is not sent to any server of ours; we have none. Google processes the purchase under its own terms and the Google Payments privacy notice. In the Play Console we see what every seller sees about an order: the order number, the product, the price, the country and the date. We keep those order records as long as Slovak accounting law requires.
Bought coins live on your phone like earned ones and have no cash value. Coins return only if Android restores an existing backup or transfers a copy from your old phone, and only in the state saved in that copy. Uninstalling removes the local balance; Restore purchases does not recover coin packs already consumed. Remove ads and the whole archive are kept by Google Play and come back through Restore purchases on the same Google account, backup or not. A payment Google Play holds as pending adds nothing until Google Play confirms it, and one that is declined adds nothing at all. The app does not acknowledge or consume a purchase it cannot verify. Google Play automatically refunds purchases that remain unacknowledged under its acknowledgement rules; a previously acknowledged purchase is not automatically refunded merely because verification later fails. Other refunds follow Google Play's refund policy. Contact support@arling.sk if a paid purchase is missing.
Two things in the installed app's permission list are worth explaining. The billing permission is there for the purchases above. The advertising library adds permissions of its own, among them the one for the Android advertising ID. Neither changes anything above: the game itself still sends nothing to us.
3What Google's advert library collects
Quiet Grids uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK to show adverts and the Google User Messaging Platform to ask for and record your consent where the law requires it. These two libraries and Google Play's billing library are the only parts of the app that use the internet: the first two for adverts and consent, the third for prices and purchases, and it talks to Google Play, not to us. If the initial consent-status request fails, the game retries it when connectivity returns without opening a form at that moment. Any required form is requested on a later start or when you open Privacy choices. They are Google's software, running inside the app, and what they collect goes to Google, not to us.
Google's disclosure for Mobile Ads SDK 25.5.0 lists four types of data it automatically collects and shares for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention: your IP address, which Google may use to estimate the general area you are in; your interactions with the app, such as launches, taps and video views; diagnostic information, such as start-up time, hangs and energy use; and identifiers of the device or account, including the Android advertising ID and the app set ID. Google says this traffic is encrypted in transit. Google uses it for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention.
The source is Google's page Data disclosure for the Google Mobile Ads SDK. Google's own privacy policy and its page on how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services describe what happens afterwards. We do not receive this data ourselves and we cannot delete it for you.
4Your choices
Google's consent library determines whether a privacy form is required for your region and consent status. The game requests any required form and requests adverts only when the library permits it. Where available, you can revisit your choices through More, Privacy choices. A form is not shown on every launch or in every region.
Rewarded adverts are optional and start only when you press their button. Banners can appear automatically on lists. Full screen adverts can appear after a completed archive or practice board when you press Next, subject to frequency limits; they do not appear during solving, at startup or after the daily board. Remove ads disables banners and these full screen adverts. Optional rewarded adverts remain available.
You can also reset or delete the advertising ID for the whole phone in Android's own settings, under Privacy and then Ads.
5Children
Quiet Grids is not directed at children. The intended audience is players aged 16 and over. The game requests adverts with a maximum content rating of PG.
6Legal basis and how long things are kept
Where consent is required for advertising, our legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in More, Privacy choices. Local data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the game. If Android has made a cloud backup, Google retains that copy according to your backup settings. Uninstalling the game does not itself guarantee deletion of a backup. Google's retention of the data its library collects is described in Google's own privacy policy.
If you write to us by e-mail, we keep your message and address for as long as it takes to deal with it and to meet any legal obligation that applies.
7Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, delete and port your personal data, to object to processing and to complain to a supervisory authority. In Slovakia that is the Office for Personal Data Protection, at dataprotection.gov.sk. To delete local game data, clear the app's storage or uninstall it. Manage or delete any cloud backup through your device's Google backup settings. These actions do not delete Google's purchase records or advertising data. To request deletion of information held by ARLing, write to support@arling.sk. For anything else, write to support@arling.sk and we will answer.
