IXL is torture for children. The grading system makes absolutely no sense. A correct answer gives you 1-2 points,an incorrect one takes away 10-15 points! That isn't even done in colleges and universi... See more

DO NOT BUY NOT WORTH IT!

I recently bought a IXL package for Math, it is absolutely horrible. I cannot describe how bad it is. The home screen is very complicated and messy (it takes 10 minutes to find the right lesson). Another example is; if you have to calculate a slope of an angle it will say in small letters on the bottom of the screen "Simplify your answer and write it as a proper fraction, improper fraction, or integer" This is absolutely not clear so if u want to answer it will say it is incorrect because you write it as it is shown. Also there is no clear explanation so dont make the fault I made by buying it!

Great Support in Finding My Next IT Role

BHL Digital made my job search much easier. They quickly understood my experience and career goals, and matched me with a position that aligned perfectly with my skills in software development. Their guidance through the interview process was thorough and professional. Within weeks, I secured a role with a tech company, and I’m excited about the new challenges ahead. If you’re in the IT sector and looking for a role, I highly recommend working with them.

Generally a better site than educake.

This site actually helps me learn and tells me what I did wrong while doing a question. You might have to do 100 or more questions but its fine.

Why I despise IXL

Ixl is quite the company, from making it almost impossible to complete your work, to not explaining how to do Better. I swear they couldn't do worse while trying to not explain what you did wrong. All it shows is the question, the answer you put, and another question that you're supposed to learn from?

The 'smart' score system is a nightmare to try to succeed with. The points lost for a wrong question and the points gained are contradictory. You gain 10 points and lose 1 on the first question. Then it swaps with almost no gain and taking multiple questions. I've almost maxed out my English levels, but it took me 61 questions to get 72 smart score.

I don't even understand how it works. One time you get +5 points to a 60, then you get one wrong. After 2 more questions you are back at a 60, but you only get +4 points? I swear Ixl makes you get a 99 just so that they can be petty, and have you done one more question and risk losing everything to get 1 point.

"Maby you are just bad at this topic 🤓🤓🤓" I don't care. You are annoying and only take pride in your 1200 in grammar. You have no skills and have somehow convinced yourself it is the only thing that you need to succeed. You have no friends and even less social skills somehow.

The questions also make no sense they ask the most mind bogglingly worded questions with weird kids in the scenarios. One of my math ones said that a kid likes to play educational math games in their free time and made a graph on how many points they had. It's so annoying that they have people come up with the scenarios like this trash. I remember a question scenario from 5ish years ago because of how dumb it was. Here's how it went:
"We need to make a math problem that kids like"
"Don't they like video games?"
"They do! How can we incorporate that into math?"
"Let's make them add videogames!"
Thats how we have the question; Jake has 5 videogames and buys 7 more videogames. How many Videogames does he have now? I'm sure everyone loved that question.

The schools here made me do 20 minutes twice a week of Ixl for both math and English. All it does is make people mad that they gain 2 points and lose 6 at a smart score of 80. The smart score only means how many questions you need to answer for the report to be filled with good looking bar graphs. I don't understand a topic 5% less if I get the 10th question wrong compared to 1% less if I get the first question wrong. It's probably them trying to be accurate because of how your brain is being fried with anger.

Thanks for reading my rant. I'm very annoyed rn at Ixl after having to do 2 'learning' assignments. Hope y'all have a good day and purge your mind of Ixl and its annoying nature.

Unsecure online payments - beware!!

Don't do what I did and sign up for this service before reading the reviews.
Shonky IXL website charged my card 3 times and never sent log in details to me. Not even a confirmation email I called their helpline during business hours and they just don't answer. I am awaiting their response to my email to refund and cancel my membership.

Do not take it.

Every skill is taking too long to do. Some you can finish off in 3-4 minutes but others take up to 20 minutes. They do a bad job explaining how to do things correctly
which prevents kids from the opportunity to learn and grow. When you get an answer wrong, the smart score drops at an alarming rate which puts stress on children.
Beware.

Biggest piece of dogcrap I've ever used on a device

This app is the worst app of all time. Its so stressful for students like me and others are getting so angry at it, they might aswell destroy their devices. No wonder why this deserves 2 stars, if the people of ixl are reading this, go fck
yourselves. You guys just give learning a bad reputation.

"It was way too long," My friend said.
"You have to add subway surfers gameplay to make it less boring." One of my classmates says.

I would rather be strapped to medieval torture devices than be on this website for one more second.

We enjoyed IXL to an extent where the kids did get different math problems to practice from. The kids also got a chance to experience how it feels to complete questions under a timed scenario and that was quite interesting to observe. We've definitely felt that IXL was a bit harsh with their grading so we've tried out other options like Beestar. Beestar also has really great math questions and an online math competition that the kids have really enjoyed. We also enjoy how much more relatable the math questions are for the kids.
