Whether you need a travel eSIM for France depends on where your phone plan comes from. France is in the EU roaming zone, so an EU SIM roams there at home prices, within its fair-use limit. Do I need an eSIM for France if I have an EU SIM?
Often not: an EU SIM roams in France at home prices, within its fair-use limit. A France eSIM is for UK and non-EU phones, or when you need more data than your home plan allows abroad.
Does my UK roaming work in France?
Not for free on most plans. Since Brexit many UK operators charge a daily fee in the EU. A France eSIM gives you data at a fixed price instead.

Is there 5G in France?
Yes, where the network has built it, mostly in the big cities. Elsewhere you get 4G. You need a 5G phone to use it.

When should I install the eSIM?

What if I run out of data?

Can I get a refund?
Yes, if the eSIM has never been installed. Once it is installed on a phone it cannot be refunded, because the profile is tied to that device.
