Alan Reynolds (independent) ran for election to the California State Assembly to represent District 41. He lost in the general election on November 6, 2018.

Reynolds was an unsuccessful independent candidate for District 41 of the California State Assembly in 2016. He also ran unsuccessfully for Lieutenant Governor of California in 2014.[1]

Reynolds is a city commissioner, engineer, and small businessman. He earned a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Southern California (USC). While pursuing his degree at USC, Reynolds also worked as an environmental project manager, assisting engineering projects and environmental studies at the Port of Los Angeles and Huntington Beach. After graduating, he became an engineering consultant and technical sales specialist. He later founded his own business, Reynolds Sales and Consulting. Reynolds and his wife, Kathleen Morales, have two children.[2]

The candidate filing deadline was February 25, 2016, for candidates filing with signatures. The deadline for candidates using a filing fee to qualify was March 11, 2016.[3]
