"TEA IN THE GARDEN" MEMORIES

Earlier today I made up a booklet as we will be
putting our home in Colorado up for sale soon.
It was fun looking back at some
photos of my summer garden so I
decided to share some here too:

I will soon be saying goodbye to this
Colorado garden and will begin
the process of starting a new garden
in Missouri.  I look forward to the challenge!

CHAPPIE HAS A GARDEN

Recently I made a new friend.  He comes to my garden every day.  His name is "Chappie" and he loves to just hang out here:

As you can see Chappie doesn't know this is for birds!

Chappie reminds me of a cat we had years ago in Texas who would suddenly bite you.....not hard but unpredictable.

When not in my garden, he lives somewhere
 on the street behind us....

AUTUMN DELIGHTS

Happy Fall!

I can hardly believe I still have a little Queen Anne's Lace here and there in the garden.

SWANS for "Tea In The Garden"

It's July and welcome to "Tea In The Garden":

This morning the skies were overcast.  We have had a lot of rain lately which has been unusual for us.
My garden likes it but of course it is concerning
because of the Waldo Canyon Burn scar.  On the 4th day of rain it did bring down some of my tallest delphiniums.
Some flooding has occurred over near the mountains.

I am very fond of Queen Anne's Lace
although yes, I do know it is considered
a weed and in the carrot family!

Have yourself some tea and sit here
while we chat a bit.

IT'S A HOLLYHOCK YEAR IN OLD COLORADO CITY

I just wanted to share this little cottage near my store where the Hollyhocks are abundant this year:

And on a corner near the stop sign:

WELCOME TO "TEA IN THE GARDEN"

I wondered if rain would be a problem today as another day of rain is expected here.  I am so glad it was just overcast but not raining yet.  The rain has been breaking my delphiniums off this week.

Can I pour you a cup of Mountain Huckleberry Tea?

This morning I was feeling a little melancholy as I thought about the lady who used to live behind me as I would have been taking this bouquet to her today.  Ilona went to be with Jesus this spring at age 93.  I believe she is looking down from above today and knows this would have been for her!

I have a fondness for these vintage Sadler teapots:

I also love vintage linens.
I am excited to see the first of the Queen's Anne's Lace begin to bloom - my favorite "weed"!
