⛧Negative Gain-Discography(1985-1986)⛧

Hardcore/Thrashcore/Canada/192/1985-1986

[⛧All Images Contain Download Links⛧]

"Killer thrash hardcore from Toronto, Ontario. Fast and aggressive but with a dark edge at times. Classic stuff that was unfortunately never re-issued or released on CD. This collection compiles the band's 1986 "Back From the Dead" LP on Pusmort Records, and the band's self-released demo tape from 1985. Excellent quality on both recordings, and i boosted the demo to match the volume of the LP. Sounds great. Enjoy+" - Bloggedquartered.blogspot.com

⛧Thrash Metal Underground Uprising⛧

The modern underground thrash metal scene is experiencing a vibrant "uprising," characterized by a return to raw, 1980s-inspired speed, aggression, and DIY ethics, often blurring the lines between thrash, death, and black metal. This revival is driven by a global network of new bands, independent labels, and dedicated fans keeping the "old school" sound alive. Key Underground Thrash Bands & Projects (Modern Era)

Several bands are frequently cited in discussions of the current underground, many of which are noted for their high-energy, uncompromising sound:

Hellripper: A leading name in the modern "blackened thrash" scene.

Deathhammer: Known for raw, early '80s-style thrash/speed metal.

Cruel Force: Blending thrash with black/heavy metal influences.

Pest Control: Delivering high-energy crossover thrash.

Foreseen: Combining thrash with hardcore elements.

Bonehunter: Playing a dirty, punk-influenced form of thrash.

Fastkill: Japanese band known for extreme speed and intensity.

Ares Kingdom: A mix of death/thrash with a raw, intense sound.

This video explains the key influences and elements that gave birth to the thrash metal genre:

"Uprising" Characteristics & Trends

Rawness over Polish: Unlike the cleaner sound of "Big Four" bands in their later years, many underground bands prefer the raw, unrefined sound of 1980–1985.

Crossover Influence: A strong blend of thrash metal with hardcore punk and black metal is common.

Global Scene: The uprising is not confined to one region; notable underground scenes exist in Europe (Sweden, Germany, Finland, UK) and a strong scene in Brazil.

DIY Spirit: Many bands operate independently or through small, specialized underground labels, utilizing platforms like Bandcamp and YouTube for discovery.

Compilation Focus: Labels still utilize compilations to showcase new underground talent to fans of the genre.

This underground movement ensures that the speed, "honesty," and "rage" of early thrash metal remain relevant in the modern music landscape.
