I don’t believe this guy has enough crossbows. I think he needs to add three or four more.
Cool! It's Sir Hitsalot! His character was introduced in the Fright Knights edition of the LEGO Mania magazine back in 1997! According to the little character bio for him, he was present during the great debate between Willa the Witch and her bat-obsessed (and possessed!) lord, Basil. Willa argued for a direct strike against the southern Royal Kingdom, citing previous successes her master Majisto had many years ago against what was left of the once-mighty Crusader Kingdom. Basil, perhaps still harboring some buried affinity for his former liege, wanted to spend more time training and arming the disparate forces Willa had spell-bound into service of the Bat Lord. It was during a pitched discussion regarding the severe lack of advanced weaponry that Sir Hitsalot (or Reginald, as he was originally known) wandered in accidentally and, having overheard "advanced weaponry" mentioned, blurt out that he just so happened to find a huge cache of crossbows on his way back from the tavern last night...
Gotta love that old 90s nostalgia lore!
This appears to be an escalation from the previously featured crossbow boat and crossbow cart... and I agree, more are clearly needed.
I've pieced this one together a few months ago - I think I'm still partial to 1732, but this one also looks decent when you sit the minifig in that suspiciously vacant 2x2 space in front of the handle.
Batman's favorite Castle subtheme.
I'm not sure the name covers the set well enough.
Something like "Mobile Armored Strike Command" might be better...or maybe "crossbows cart".
I rather randomly have one of the bat shields. I do love the look of this one. I am begining to wish that the 90s hadn't been my dark era.
When there's no kill like overkill, send in the crossbow cart.
I love LEGO CASTLE.
Looks like anyone would *bolt* away from this powerhouse!
Duh! You just put one hand on the spear, one hand on the cart, and three hands on the crossbows! Do you, like, not know how to drive a Crossbow Cart?
Bring back Castle.
Simple sets like this just worked great, even when a modern version could have stud shooter crossbows now, it didn't need them for imagined play.
Also , 3 crossbows, 2 shields, 1 spear is quite the weaponry for such a small set.
(even if you consider the 1998-1999 "Service" packs that had Fright Knight elements, it had no crossbow)
For when you really really need something crossbowed
