6 figures for $30?? That’s awesome. Plus great PPP. And what do we get nowadays??
Overpriced and underminifigured sets.
Well not always, but sometimes.
@Your future president Yeah, quite a steal.
I’m sad these came out in my dark ages.
I’d love them.
I’m really surprised they haven’t revisited this theme again. Vikings are really prominent in popular culture right now with How To Train Your Dragons...plus the Vikings tv show.
@natro220 and the Minnesota Vikings ;p
At first glance, I read the article title as, ‘Random army of Vikings with heavy artillery wagon’
What a great set name!
People Packs- With Beards. Had the long boat with serpent. Most of the Viking kits were cool. Helmets didn’t click on too well for me. Also started my irritations toward those fang pieces.
"Army of Vikings with Heavy Artillery Wagon"
How very literal of you, LEGO.
Wow that is a great value! I missed out on all of these. I didn’t get back into Lego until 2010 after grad school.
Interesting, I always thought that those fancy 1x4 tiles were exclusive to the Green Grocer. I guess not!
Vikings gave us one of my favorite minifigure heads:

He just looks like he take on any kind of challenge and it not be one to him. Also, it pairs really well with a lot of dark orange hair styles.
Given the popularity of the television show Vikings, I think re-introducing the Vikings theme would basically be a license to print money if Lego were to do it.
I loved the vikings sets! So many cool pieces and functions. Seeing this inspires me to rebuild them in some form!
Yep, would love vikings to come back but don`t hold much hope for it :-(
I too was in my dark age when this theme came out and I always look at the sets longing for them!
@Your future president: to be fair, this was great value when it was released too. Most sets at that price didn't have anywhere near 6 figs, or have such a nice build too.
This set is great because it has no enemy that will make price bigger! :D
@chrisaw, I feel you... My biggest frustration about my dark ages was not being able to get any of those Viking sets... I had the opportunity to buy some sets later, but always on scraps/incomplete ones...
One of the best Lego themes ever. Great graphics on shileds and tiles. Good helmets sadly no themed weapons. But we got Shiled Maiden in Collectible series to add to male Vikings!
Better value still as it have seven figures....bet your missing the one on the wagon.
This must've been a limited release, because I do not even remember this one.
Vikings were a cool theme, though. Those dragons were cool as all get-out.
This is like the crossbow cart on steroids!
The entire Vikings theme was released over a two year period through Toys R Us only, and in 2005/06 the few Lego stores in the US. Toys R Us stores received large center-aisle 4-way cardboard displays for Christmas 2005 with the entire range displayed/glued as was common for new themes in the main Lego section. A friend who worked at TRU that year saved the top display for me, and I still have it.
Thought this set was called Double Catapult or something
One of the best minor themes ever, these are not especially pricey at BL, have been buying them since a few months back, only missing 7019-1.
Bring back.... castlevikings?
This theme ended my dark age, I wish they would do more, but I wish the helmets didn’t have the horns on
@Crow T. Robot They are in fact described as panels with viking print, so I guess the Vikings were first ;)
Oh hell yes I loved this theme. This set in particular is great for that dual firing action the artillery wagon has
I was too young for this theme when it came out, but my grandparents have a 2006 Lego catalog to this day. I remember sometimes my brothers and I would take out the catalog and look at the sets we missed.
We wanted Vikings so bad. XD
I still do actually.
@ArielHairRaph you're thinking of 7021. And since all of the other Vikings sets had a creature opponent... does that make Army of Vikings the most awesomest Battle Pack ever?
Good set.
Managed to get this for 20$-ish back in the day just as fantasy era was coming out. I'm still glad I've timed coming out from my darkish ages around then. It was super easy to armybuild just from grabbing stuff off shelves.
Glad I actually own this one
Man Vikings was the bomb. I have all the sets...
Except for this one. I kinda regret that now. I was young, and mainly in it for the Dragons and beasts. And the lack thereof in this set turned me off. I can't imagine the aftermarket price for this one, but I may need to hunt it down to have the complete collection.
Vikings was epic. So many creative and awesome monsters, so many army builders packed into every set, and of course the crazy over the top names of all the products. I'd love to see this line come back sometime soon, especially the Midgard Serpent.
I wish they would bring this theme back. Knowing Lego though, they would make the sets 50% less awesome nowadays.
Reminds me of the 7038 Troll Wagon.
Ah, vikings, the theme that brought me back out of my dark Ages. Built these while i was studying. 14 years ago already. Bought them all.
Helmets indeed not that good, but for displaying it was ok. Want this theme back (along with classic pirates and forestmen off course) :)
@Kalhiki: I didn't have ALL the other Vikings sets, but I'm with you on regretting not picking this one up. It might not have had any really unique figures but the crank-driven repeating shooter is quite clever.
I think this theme is the one I feel the most mad that I didn't experience because of the dark ages. Lego should really revisit Vikings world!
@natro220 O no Lego couldnt do that. All historical themes 'dont sell' remember? And only licensed sci-fi sets matter.
Sarcasm over. Although we all know that Lego never would make a vikings set because they hate historical themes (or basically anything at least semi realistic)
I think vikings would sell very well.
I personally find vikings to be very interesting (hate the tv show) but its fun to learn about their 'normal' lives: music, games, (mythology isnt my thing but for some people its interesting)
Just as a 'huge audience' argument, there is a Viking reenactment group (with a very large member group) very close to where I live. In Australia! (like vikings are popular even about as far from Scandinavia as one can get)
A vikings theme would be the best; a medieval theme, can include dragons and norse mythology to cater for the fantasy market, there is a large interest, women could fight in real life (mainly just to defend farms while the men were away) but that would allow for female warriors, plus they had interesting 'normal lives'* and due to the nautical part could even cater a tiny bit for a 'pirates' ish theme.
*Heres hoping for a Viking Market Village!
So I'm clearly not alone that this series was unfortunately during my dark age.
