By in United States,

I have this and let me tell you one of my previous dogs chewed on the shark fin, I had to replace one angular part.

By in United States,

Well doesn’t this look familiar like a recent set.

Glow in the dark elements are the best. Sometimes I have them in my room at night and they act as a night light they are so bright. It’s surprising.

ha, this set was among the giant haul gifted to me from a former coworker! on of those "i have it but i don't *own* it" sets

By in Australia,

It does really resemble the one released this year, doesn't it? I've never been too keen on brick-built animals, but the colours here look pretty amazing.

On the whole I think this year's 31088 has better design thanks to many parts that weren't available in 2004, but still there are certain elements of the shark and squid design that I like better on this. I like the colors and the simpler gill plate on this shark and the suction cups on the squid. The anglerfish, not so much. For me the new set is the clear winner for that species.

Shark: check.
Brick-built animal: check.
Multibuild: check.
Therefore... Perfect set!

After this year's sharky release (a day-one purchase!) I was compelled to hunt down this ol' set. It's very different to 31088; an elegant build, for a more civilised age.

Shark doesn't look bad actually.

By in Netherlands,

Just looks like the anglerfish has a periscope with its lure pointing straight up like that

By in Finland,

These old Creator animal themed sets from the early 2000s had a lot of pieces in rare colors. They were also good parts packs in general.

By in New Zealand,

I wish they made more glow in the dark pieces. I wonder why they don’t, especially in other colours too. It’s like an eternal dark age of glowless pieces.

I find it interesting how one of the "sets of the day" last week was 4893, another old Creator designer set.

Maybe Huwbot is showing a new affinity for old Creator sets??

I have this set and I like all these glow in the dark parts!

By in Singapore,

I've raved about this set previously in Brickset's articles about its spiritual successor 31088-1, and the LEGO FORMA Shark Skin.

This is my favorite LEGO Designer Set of all time. My 13th birthday gift. Right on the edge of my Dark Ages, rebuilt when I exited them and one of the more prominent displays in my new LEGO room.

And you can't go wrong with sand blue for sharks. The squid is notoriously flimsy though, which is a shame — I much prefer 31088's cephalopod. The anglerfish's glow-in-the-dark teeth somewhat make up for its rather poor implementation of an (also glow-in-the-dark) illicium, though.

Also, it's funny how much I can't stand people calling this theme Creator (I know that's how Brickset categorizes it and I know that the n-in-1 premise is basically what Creator is today), because there was actually a separate theme called Creator that was more like what we now know as Classic and y'all would have scoffed at back in the day. Feels to me like the name Creator isn't a very strong identity for a brand overall. But it's not my first time having a go at the name Creator either.

By in Iran,

This is one of those sets that I always wanted but didn't manage to get, maybe it's rose colored glasses but I think it aged pretty well.

By in Sweden,

It's a very neat set, also and in particular as a parts pack, as somebody else has pointed out already. I generally like the Designer Sets from that area. Just recently built 4404 thoroughly enjoyed that
