1/4th the number of stickers of modern speed champions.

Oh the blessed days of 2009

How does one sprint if one does not have legs?

I’ve got half of this set. And I mean literally half. Looks like the original owner just ripped it into two right down the centre, leaving me with all the parts for the left side but none for the right.

Oddly fitting, considering today's City advent offering...

By in Brazil,

I own this one and a Speed Champions set.

This one is nice, but I rather go with the modern Speed Champions, even with more stickers.

Only one of the options involves a foot race. And technically that could even be excluded if the race participants are using wheelchairs.

The white striping is perfect. The blue not so much. It's too blue, and not black enough.

Change that blue to black, add a dash of trans neon green, and this set would be just missing a fig. And while I'm wishing, let's add a fig!

By in Germany,

I don't like these sets. I can't fit them anywhere in my mind. Don't belong to Creator, not Technic and certainly not city scale. I got one of these in a lot and I'm just using the parts.

This might be a controversal opinion, but I prefer Racers over Speed Champions. I like the simplicity and playability of the Racers cars, while Speed Champions suffers from having too complicated models with too much detail, and very limited playability. But that's just me.

Serious question:
Do the designers usually name the sets they create or is there a completely different position at LEGO within the Set Naming Department?

Follow-up question:
If the latter, how do I get a job as an introductory level Set Namer?

I like having my favorite cars as Lego models, but yes, I agree that Racers was more fun.

Nope. I don’t have any of the parts that can’t be ripped in half perfectly. So no windscreen, motor, or little 2x2 blue thing in front of the windscreen.

I understand that this contains a pull back motor, but what is the technic beam rig for?

Wow, a set I have that I'd forgotten to mark in the collection manager. Found this unopened at my local thrift store when my sons were just the right age to enthusiastically play with this after assembling it.

That's a launcher. You pull the racer back then lower the technic beam rig over the back end of the car to trap it. Pushing down on the back of the rig allows the car to launch.

Regarding the Racers vs. Speed Champions grudge match...I prefer to design my own cars.
