Wow. So ... that's definitely a thing.

Does the LEGO version of Lotso also smell like strawberries? How much of the ABS must I huff to get the hint of strawberries?

This was such a weird set. I still have lotso. That driver was so creepy!!!

By in Peru,

Toys made out of other toys will never stop being weird.

Clikits, Galidor, and Jack Stone: Are we all jokes to you???

No, that's not Thanos' severed head lying in a pool of purple blood. It's an octopus, but the lighting is making the radial arms reflect weirdly on its face, appearing as vertical lines. I'm not sure what's going on with the RGB 2x2 bricks. They don't look anything like wooden letter blocks, but they're way too large to represent actual LEGO bricks. Duplo, maybe? The orange guy was interesting as it had a rotating face with two different expressions, but it was pretty much incompatible with anything that was designed to work with minifigs. The feet were fused together, the legs were unable to bend, the arms were too wide for handlebars, and the hands were too large to hold accessories.

@MCLegoboy:
No.

@Cooliocdawg:
The dump truck is supposed to be Fisher Price, I believe, as the driver does look like one of their Little People.

By in United States,

I don’t get the hate for this one. Looks perfectly adequate to me compared to the source material.

By in United States,

I've always had a soft spot for the dump truck in this, despite the back being massively juniorized. This was better than the Toy Story 4 sets, that's for sure.

By in Singapore,

I never saw any of the Toy Story films so know nothing about the source material, but I like that the dump truck build is 6+ and thus not juniorized, despite using a tipper bucket mould that was later adapted into something similar but for 4+ sets. My custom dump truck using the 4+ part from 10734, for example, has influences from this one.

Strange, isn't Lotso classified as a bigfig? It's missing from the minifigs list.

By in Poland,

Chunk is the only one considered a minifigure from this set. Why isn't Lotso, at least?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I heard somewhere once that they presented Lotso in this set simply as "a new friend", to avoid spoiling the movie (which was a tie-in with this line).

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Why all the hate? Lotso is, in my opinion, one of Pixar’s best villains. Sure, we didn’t know it at the time, but this was still the cheapest way to get him.

The others are great too.

I'm probably in a minority here, but I'd rather buy myself a Galidor set over this to be honest.

Yeah. I feel like, this set was made to look like it was an entirely different (and cheaper) kind of toy.

And they succeeded, maybe a little too well, there.

Ha! I actually have that octopus base thing, some bricklink seller included it as a freebie once upon a time, and i used it in a MOC for part of Thanos. https://i.imgur.com/K0AhsfZ.jpg

What did they do to Thanos?!

Unlike the crap Technic puts out."

What are you talking about? Technic produces actual accurate replicas of real-life dump trucks, not replicas of cartoony toy dump trucks. You can hardly call those "crap".

2010 were my dark ages. Now I want that bear for my classic setups. You now, ake little stories in town and pirate adventures interesting.

By in Netherlands,

Looks like movie accurate to me. That’s a good thing, right? I see a lot of nega vibes, but i think there’s nothing wrong with this set. Its for people that like Toy Story

By in United Kingdom,

I actually liked this set enough to buy two of it. Then I ended up having a ‘Lotso Beatdown’ afterwards.

Comparing them sizewise to the truck, that does seem possible.

By in Denmark,

I like the toy story sets. Great mini figs.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Sorta reminds me of the various Tonka trucks I owned as a kid. The rounded, chunky look reminds me more of the American Plastic Toys all-plastic dump truck I had. But, the bane of this set to me, then as a TFOL, and even now has been that huge one-piece bed. I saw a 4+ City set still using it. I know they were going for a toy, but it should have been more squared off.

By in United States,

That printed minifig head is a contender for top 10 strangest minifig heads. Yikes.

By in Canada,

I bought this set at a steep discount at Walmart for $5. I believe it was $27 CDN at full retail. None sold until they were $5. I think it's a decent dump truck. The "Minifigs" never found a place in my Lego universe, with the exception of the driver, who was an evil mastermind for a short bit. I wonder of those "minifigs" are worth anything...

A decent parts pack, for the OG Blacktron maybe...

TOY STORY! LEGO's best Disney theme!

By in Norway,

I bought this for some reason (I think it was mostly for parts like the wheels and the yellow hardhat). I think I saw the movie at some point but don't remember much of it, so for me these characters always were the Pill-Pusher Bear, the Hallucination Octopus and the Good Trip/Bad Trip Monster.
