I don't know Batmn, looks like he's on the hunt for you!

Can it really be called a hunt if he’s chasing you?

Killer Croc looks absolutely evil. Great minifigure design.

I love this set and this theme. This is one of the only sets I have from the old Batman theme.

What Batman gains in speed and power, he apparently loses in maneuverability and visibility.
He’s right behind you, Bats! And he’s driving the equivalent of a water ATV!

This set takes me back to the first LEGO Batman Videogame. Man, that was a good time!

This is the only Killer Croc I have. I keep forgetting to purchase the bigfig version, and it makes me sad!

I bought this set, mostly for the minifigures, when it was still in stores. I thought it was expensive at the time. Now, the Killer Croc minifigure alone is worth more in new condition than the entire set did when it was released! No, that’s not real term prices but even if I took inflation into account it would probably still be true :~O

Too bad I missed the boat on this one. Such a great set. Croc looks menacing. The only set I got from the first Batman sets is the Two-Face one with the Batmobile.

My immediate thought exactly! Also, what is happening to Killer Croc’s right side in the image? It looks like it was printed twice or something. It looks like the machine gun is floating.

The crocodile jetski thing looks to me like it is wearing a red hat, and now I can't stop seeing it.

I love this entire theme. The Lego Batman game was amazing as a kid. Sparked my love for superheroes. I wanted this set so badly. Killer Croc is a favorite of mine

Nah, looks more like a surprise ambush. See how calm Batman is.

Oh, how sweet is that crocodile print on the slopes.

Haha it looks like a crocodile construction worker... a crocstruction worker if you will...

I think this set might be how I first learned of the existence of someone known as Killer Croc in Batman’s rogues gallery.

Ah, 2006, the last time they did a minifig version of Killer Croc...

@peterlmorris:
There are two. TLBM has the cooler version that uses the old croc-o-gator jaw, but DCS also had a bigfig with a more lump-shaped head.

@Zander:
There was someone who used to just fill a few tables with army-built Castle faction minifigs at Brickworld Chicago. One of the groups I remember seeing was an 8x16 baseplate filled with this Killer Croc minifig. It wasn’t quite as impressive as the guy who later did a scene from The 300 with 300 CMF Spartans, but it definitely got my attention at a time when the original Batman theme villains were each listing for more than their respective sets originally retailed for.

@Collector_Nonas:
That’s...weird. I happen to have a partout copy handy. That’s not the box art. The box is embossed to match the image, and probably scans like garbage, but the image looks fine. This is the art from the instructions, which is the same image, but part of it does appear to have been copy/pasted to the left of where it started. The handlebars, part of his chest, his right arm, and a bit of his forehead repeat off to the side. The tommy gun and the white starburst effect only appear with the duplicate arm.

This is the only set from that initial run of Batman that I never bothered getting. I picked up the Killer Croc figure on Bricklink, but I just didn't like the design of the Bat-boat. As said upthread, it looks a lot more like a Bat-hovercraft, and it just didn't vibe with me.

The 2006-2008 Batman sets are easily the best that Lego have ever done, they just seemed to have a ‘darker’ edge to them than any Batman sets since. I loved them all including this one and the 7783 Bat cave is still one of my fave sets of all time.

Agree, the Bat Cave and other sets are fantastic as shown in the catalogue https://images.brickset.com/library/view/?f=catalogues/c07uk4&p=35 just never sure why it included the Batwing instead of a Batmobile when the Batwing was available separately?
There seem to be unusual fender parts and special bricks needed to allow attachment of these parts, which never appeared again?

@ambr:
Both the Batmobile and Batwing were standalone sets that year. The Batcave came with yet another vehicle that has very rarely been revisited, which is a Batskiboat, like the one used in the back half of Batman Returns.

As for the hovercraft skirt, if that’s what you’re referring to, yes. There were two Technic bricks with stand-off skirt mounts, and two rubber skirt covers that would wrap around the stand-off plates. One pair was a 1x4, and the other provided a 135° bend with 1x2 bricks on either side. These had been used a few years previously on a white Technic hovercraft, and this may indeed have been their final appearance. I know when a similar set was released under the DCS theme with a Deathstroke minifig, they used four black rubber rafts to form the hovercraft skirt.

Set from times when Batman sets were great.

Some of the OG Batman line got remade almost immediately as soon as it rebranded as DC Super Heroes but I think the closest equivalent to this one would be the one with Deathstroke in 2015. Surprised it took them that long to do another Bat-Boat though I suppose here were a couple of Bat-Subs in the meantime

@Collector_Nonas: If you look closely, it looks like the gun is being knocked out of his hand. (I don't know how, as Batman doesn't use guns, so he couldn't have shot it out. Maybe Croc just wasn't holding on tightly enough.)

By in Germany,

I bought this way back when mostly because it was the cheapest Batman set that included the accessory pack with the two guns. Of course both have since been remade as standalone parts, although the pistol got a longer barrel and they're made of slightly different plastic.
My Killer Croc also stood in as bounty hunter Bossk for a long time. It's a pretty decent Trandoshan head, at least before Lego made an official one.

@PurpleDave :
There's another wrinkle to the hovercraft elements. This set and 7045 used hard rubber elements that slide over the "rails" on the bricks; a longer one for the sides and a shorter one for the front of the vessel. The Technic hovercraft ( 8824 ) and the later RES-Q 6473 had individual elements on each brick, so there's a straight and an angled one. These are made of much softer rubber since they have to pop over the brick completely instead of being slid on.

The angled brick was also revised for reasons that aren't entirely clear to me (2991 vs 2991b). The original version has a continuous "rail", the newer one has two separate sections with a gap in the middle. Bricklink only lists that one as appearing normally here and in one other set though, with alternate appearances in another two.

Much as I love Batman, I only have a few sets.
I would prefer a line that drew more directly from the comics than the movie inspired and original designs LEGO favors.

Nope, it’s held securely in his third hand. This isn’t Killer Croc, but rather Zaphod Beeblebrox in a Croc-stume.

Maybe, but I still think the image was misprinted somehow. You can see Croc’s right arm and the upper right side of his chest copied and pasted directly to the right of Croc, covering his normal right arm (see @PurpleDave’s comment above).

By in United States,

I got this set and the Catwoman & Dragster set from the original Batman theme--they were "feel better" gifts from my Mom when I broke my leg (I was 20). And it worked: I would never have bought either set, but I thought they were pretty decent. I enjoyed the building experience more than I had with some themes I liked more, and the Castle builder in me liked getting the Croc fig.

But... man, I miss the days when Superheroes was a "rare" theme.

By in United States,

The only set of the first Batman theme collection I don’t have (..yet). I’ve always liked the interpretations of Croc as a normal-sized but altered human rather than the monsterous versions. So I hope he comes back as a minifig design again at some point.

@deathmoth:
I was able to make a minifig version of Croc from Suicide Squad using only stock parts. There’s one Chima croc with a decent single-sides head, and the rest is just basic street clothes to match his look from the first film.

But, seriously folks, am i the only one who thinks it’s pretty much just 7045 with a Batman-flavored mustache?"

I have both sets, and you are correct. They are essentially the same underneath.
