Got nothing really funny to say, it's Johnny Thunder. Can't disrespect the king.
Baby T, the hottest new rapper on the block.
It’s a shame the Adventurers reboot in Egypt didn’t sell better. I really like Johnny Thunder.
You know what LEGO should do, is have done if their past IP guys like Thunder, Alpha Team, Aquazone, Rock Raiders, etc, make cameos or have team-ups with Ninjago.
That way it’s some low-risk testing of the waters. I mean crossovers are still a thing, right? Smash Bros. seems to still be popular. I bet it could work.
Those blue wheels look a little out of place.

If Clutch Power returns, why not Bionicle? Why not Ultra Agents, Monkie Kid, Nexo Knights, or Chima?
Also fun fact, the summer 2022 wave will focus on crystal people, so those old mining sets can be good material for M.O.Cs!
I used the baby T-Rex as Rex in my Toy Story 2 Pizza Planet truck.
@Darth_Mule:
It’s the splattered guts of some exotic lizard with copper-based blood.
I loved this little set just because it was a nice way to get the baby T-rex piece, cheaply.
I love just about anything Adventurer's. Small tiny sets like this up to the Temple of Anubis, etc.
Here's looking forward to a new Indiana Jones line coming soon and an all new Adventurers!
At the risk of sounding too heavy-handed, the Adventurers theme was truly one of the best LEGO themes of all time. If you want to delve into the backstories of each subtheme- desert, jungle, Dino island, and orient expedition, it truly represents the best of what Lego can be- unique, play, design, functionality, and much more. I’m just happy to have grown up with this theme present in my Mania magazines, under the Christmas tree, and on display at my home. Cheers to Johnny Thunder and the gang, and maybe someday the magic gets reinvented as organically as it was all those years ago.

*raptor
@R1_Drift The return of Monkie Kid? They're still making sets.
@R1_Drift:
I would be all over minifigs based on the Toa Mata.
@Trigger_:
I’m pretty sure @WemWem really did mean rapper.
This is a great set with almost every piece is useful. Wish I had the foresight to have it. Another case of "Nah, I don't collect this theme".
This man's barcode sideburns, edgy bangs, and fancy mustache have no right to look this good together.

Forget all that. Bring back Christian/My Dad. We need him for the technic ATV thing.
The Mando and Child ain't got nothing on this OG power couple
Oh hey, I still have this set unopened in its original box! I used to love collecting these small, inexpensive sets as a kid, and this is one of a handful that I never opened!
JT: "No, the pick-axe isn't for SALE!!! The sextant isn't EITHER!!! What?!?! You want a demo of the RIFLE?!?...Stay. Right. There..."
In fairness, you'd be crabby too if had to drag your 'gear' around in a cart...wonder why he just didn't get a horse-drawn wagon, even a small one:)
@brick_r I was thinking this is Johnny Thunder the Scrap Man years !

I’ve always loved Johnny Thunder and Baby T’s hitsingles ‘Don’t toy with me’ & ‘I am a stud’
For an unknown until today, Baby T has also had a lot of cameo appearances for no obvious reason other than to increase sales including a guest appearance on Batman 7783. I need to check out his/her twitter/instagram account to see where they are now?

That might be true, but who cares? They are ridiculously rare! They only came in 4 sets, one is the Kabaya version of this set, an yet another one a different Kabaya set from the same line (number 4 is an Insectoids set 6837).
If it weren't the first set available with a moulded (non-Duplo) dinosaur in it I would have picked it up for those wheels. It actually came out a few months before both the main-line series of Dino Island as well as the 4 impulse sets 5911-5914, so yeah this was the first System dinosaur.
What is a bit more strange about the blue wheels is the fact that they break the color coding of Dino Island: Usually good guy vehicles have red highlights, while the bad guy's have blue ones (KK I used the same in reverse, 2000 was a bit obsessed with that).
Is this actually a cart of Sam Sanister (AKA Mr. Hates/Baron von Barron) and his crew, that Johnny (AKA Joe Freeman/Sam Grant) 'borrowed' to get the baby T-rex back to freedom after the baddies captured it?
Anyways Sam Sanister himself used a red race car thingy in the main line (5920), so there's also something fishy going on...

I wouldn't worry too much about that.
He always comes back.
O_O

Too bad 'Studs Not On Top' kinda bombed though. It had some killer lyrics.

The white and tan are very much Dino Island adventurer vehicle colors... so either he borrowed the wheels or we're overthinking it. With Dino Island being rather lax in its color blocking due to slight juniorization (the real 2000s phenomena, not 'this is kid-like'), it's probably the latter.
So ehm... this is a classic set for me. Although not my first by any means it's still a first for many things, including Johnny Thunder himself! I lost the baby T-Rex eventually, but since I was able to use Bricklink it's been compete again :D
Great set. 'Cart with tools hauled by a minifig' wasn't the greatest design, but boy were they always great inexpensive entry points to themes. So many tools! A main character! A dinosaur in the Dino Island line for this price!
Man, I miss cool entry sets of this price point so much. Now the lowest is either a widely unavailable polybag without even a minifig, one 10 euro set of a vehicle per theme, or a classic box of color-themed bricks. Or a bag of literal 1x1s with emojis. Oh, and maybe the magazine gift sets... which come with a magazine you don't want and are super inconsistently available anyway.
That dino slaps.

Sales were hurt by the "Illegal techniques" warning sticker required by all major distributors of the album.
I wanted this set SO MUCH when I was younger... and all for that baby T-Rex, since I already had three identical Johnny Thunder minifigures by that point! Never did get it; but eventually I got the baby T-Rex from 1349 instead, so it was all cool ^^
Anyway, I'm always here for Adventurers stuff. Someday I'd love to collect more of that theme, especially the biggest Egypt and Jungle sets, but its all so expensive nowadays...
Look at little baby t. As he stares into the volcano that is erupting and smiles.
Loved this set, still remember the day I got it. Real shame Lego doesn't do the tiny boxes anymore, way better than polybags. It makes little kids with a little bit of pocket money feel like they're getting a real set!
I came back this morning to check on the puns and I was SNOT disappointed.
Huzzah, it's Johnny Thunder!
Adventurers is my all-time favorite LEGO theme. My first two System sets were Adventurers, and I was fortunate enough to collect the crown jewel "big set" of every subtheme, from 5988 to 7419 , except 5987 . In fact, I don't have any Dino Island sets. As a kid, I was into the archeology aspect of Adventurers, with all the treasure and trap-filled temples. I wasn't really into dinosaurs, and the whole Dino Island subtheme seemed out of place. That said, some of the vehicles looked very attractive to me, especially 5935 .

Either that, or have Johnny Thunder's descendant(s) show up in LEGO City.
I still wish I'd been able to get a baby T. Rex, but the only Dino Island creatures I ever got were the pterodactyls.
This was when we were in the The Lost World Jurassic Park craze, man should LEGO update their sauropod and Stegosaur molds.
I love adventurers but looking this set I think of the wizard's cart but instead of thinking it through they just used the parts they have laying in front of them.
