    By in United States,

I do truly enjoy the "what it's named is what you get" nomenclature of the vintage era sets. Not that modern sets get too wild with their naming, but the old ones were really direct. This is, indeed, a crane truck.

So hard to find original strings in sets like these nowadays.

A great deal of patience needed to unravel the tangled mess that frequently comes with these!

They had trucks for everything. Towtrucks, trucks with cranes, trucks that carry cranes, I wouldn't be surprised if one had a crane towing a truck!

What, you don't want a towtruck towing a crane?

I want a towtruck towing a crane that's hauling a crane carrying a towtruck, and inside that towtruck are a bunch of vintage LEGO sets of trucks and cranes doing various circus acts of this whole ordeal.

I'll allow that. I won't design it for you, though. I'm kinda tapped out from Home Alone (_almost_ finished building the garage with the back ends of two cars, and bulking up the yard, and just need to finish working on a few of the minifigs).

    By in Germany,

    Simple?
    Basic?
    Clear
It appears to have only the parts that are required to define the announced model.
However, the height clearance is awful.
I am still amazed how they got the angle of the crane beam using the two hinged plates.

Did you notice how they extended the chassis by a 2x4 plate?

Hope you don’t want to lift anything too heavy, with no stabilisers this guy’d topple right over if it tried

It's LEGO, build them if you need them.

We never see what happens if he fires that, so all that proves that people will try anything in Legoland XD

This set was so secretive that it was photographed by a spy using a telephoto lens.

Big truck for a bird...also, can any other kind drive it; say: Geese? Ducks? Swallows?...I'll see myself out.:)

There's no way a swallow, whether African or European, could drive this. It doesn't have any coconuts.

@PurpleDave: Oh, ok...but there's this guy over there, missing his arms...all in black...keeps complaining about "Tis but a flesh wound"...think he wants a fight, or something. :D

That 8x2 hinge had to be opened by 270 degrees, which was not a good idea as tended to break if you went any further.
