By in Canada,

Ooh one of our earliest family sets, and first time I’d seen a curved piece like that — never mind it having stickers!

It was satisfying to complete this one.

IMHO 7635 is significantly better than 60327. The truck in 60327 is just appalling - what's with those wheels?

I'm not sure how I feel about them using1x2 tiles on the filler assembly on horses' backs instead of 1x2 plates. It does look nice, but it also gives them a bit of a dimple on their sides, and doesn't allow for bareback riding.

@MeisterDad: I left the rear license plate sticker off of mine, because that curved piece was new at the time, and I might want to re-use it somewhere. No-one tell the Lego City police!

By in United States,

I got this set for parts, and I’m not entirely sure which ones. I’m pretty sure the horse ended up in my Routemaster bus, though.

By in Australia,

one of the few sets my son got, where you could build the vehicle with the correct RHD steering.

By in Turkey,

There is also the original 6359, but I admit, six stud 7635 is siginificantly better at everything. That SUV is definitely a Range Rover.

Getting strong A-Team vibes from that 4x4

and also 6405 , a (near?) identical one also is part of 6419

They've done other Range Rovers based on this design but they've all been worse.

Agreed. The SUV in the RSotD is a right piece of work. The newer one looks silly by comparison.

Same with the trailer. The older one has loads more detail. The newer trailer lacks any rear reflectors. That poor horse is going to get rear-ended!

(Neigh!! Snort!)

In fact, the only thing better about the newer version is the horse.

Unfortunately, wrist-injuries are not uncommon in equestrian sports. Especially arm-wrestling. Horses are pretty strong, man.

By in United States,

I've got nothing bad to say, this set looks like a winner, I've just always been too consumed with whatever Star Wars has done to really care at all about what City's doing.

By in United Kingdom,

One of my first sets

By in United Kingdom,

Got this one on clearance, a solid set. Does everything that it sets out to do really well.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

I got this set from my dad after getting shot when I was 5.

It's a good set, but I really think you should have sued for more.

Great set. City in ca 2007-2011 was doing something quite well and that was playability. The sets were also starting to look finished and the subject matter was becoming diverse while still sticking to the core theme of 'City' (looking at you, Volcano Exploration). Unfortunately that meant 96% was vehicles, but at least they were often good for the time. And in this case, just good in general.

Maybe he mean injection.

When I first saw this set, I got strong Paradisa vibes (6405, specifically), and would have gladly picked this up. Never did, due to City sitting pretty low on my "I need to get some!" hierarchy chart, but looking back at it now, it looks even better. I miss the original horse!

Ah, The Golden Age of Lego City.

I bet I could almost build this from my spare parts.

Challenge Accepted.

Ah, 2009. The height of the Golden Age of LEGO CITY... pure perfection in brick form!

That doesn’t always work out so well. I briefly worked with someone who, from what I heard, got shot and blinded in one eye as a kid, got a huge settlement that came with an annuity, used some of the money to, uh, “rent” a date, and got something that doesn’t ever clear up.

By in United Kingdom,

I remember getting this when it was released.
The colour scheme is just so perfect between the truck and the horse box, and both look GREAT

When 60327 came out last year, my mind INSTANTLY compared it to this set...
...and the new one INSTANTLY lost!

This has been an exceptionally informative edition of Brickset Comments, but even though we've learned that apparently Polish toddlers are so incredibly hardcore that they'll take a bullet for a good set, I just don't think their fathers would then also take them to a brothel. Surely, the infirmary first, then see where the evening takes you.

"You can't buy love"

"But you can rent it"

By in United States,

The best horse trailer set. The best era of City.

I love the husband minifigure. He's definitely married to a lady who does horse shows.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hmm, I think I have most or all of this from bulk buys--sadly no time to investigate the matter.

He's happy because she's all into husbandry.

Truly, the cart has indeed come before the horse.
