Once the surfer is saved where will he go? usually they have a high-buoyancy mat attached to the back for them to ride on, but this doesn't have one. So much for a rescue!

I actually had this set what feels like ages ago, fun little set, I wonder if the sticker is still attached to the surfboard, it looks cool.

Ah , coast guard, a subtheme that seems replaced by a blend of various other recurring subthemes, notable 2020 / 2023 exploration, and a brief appearance of "Beach Rescue" with yellow/red color scheme 60286 : Beach Rescue ATV + 60328 : Beach Lifeguard Station

Not too long ago, LEGO did redesign the small inflatable boat https://brickset.com/parts/design-78611 to allow 4x6 studs instead of 2x6 but has not been seen in Orange or White yet to recreate the old coast guard style.

You ever try to go to sleep for two hours but just can't?
I haven't been attacked by a shark or had an alarm blare to have me rescue some guy being attacked by a shark, but I just can't get to sleep.
Ugh...

I think I got this set solely to recreate the motorcycle shark from Deadpool Space Squid Shark Balloon Battle:

I was thinking the timing seemed suspect, but DP2 came out in February 2016, and this set didn't retire until July 2015. It's definitely possible that I managed to find a straggler to buy. Either that or I may have bought it for the surfer, and just got lucky that it came with the right shark.

By in Turkey,

Nice set. The shark is oldschool, too...

By in Canada,

Huh I just sold a copy of this set last week. Perfect stickers on it, too. It went for under $4. Great play value though with a vehicle, shark, two figs and a board!

By in United Kingdom,

Guess doing a print on the surfboard to resemble bite marks might have been too much, huh?

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

For the price at the time it was nice that you could get a shark and surfer in addition to your jetski

Gravatar
By in Italy,

So, he saves surfers only?

Gravatar
By in United States,

So…is the jet ski going to scare off the shark? I don’t understand what the rescuer is supposed to do.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I have this set!

It has the most hilarious picture on the back of the box. The jetski pilot is just throwing the life preserver at the guy as the shark appears to be sneaking up on him in preparation for a bite.

Well, it’s funny to me, anyway.

The shark isn't the danger he's being rescued from. It's part of the rescue effort.

You must be pretty young, if it seems like "ages ago." This set is only eleven years old. Although I perfectly understand. I still remember, as a child, going with my parents when they were meeting up with some people they hadn't seen in something like ten years. I remember thinking that that sounded like an eternity.

Yeah, I'm only 17 so probably much younger than the average brickset user.

I actually had this set once! I still have the shark, but I accidentally wedged a 1x1 round tile into its mouth

@Cinnamonbricks: Whereas I'm forty-three. I still remember being very surprised that @CapnRex101 is a good bit younger (I don't remember exactly by how much) than I; I'd assumed he was about my age.

@AverageChimaEnjoyer: How did you pull that off?

Why that surfer guy wasn't scared by that shark...

By in Germany,

That shark definitely needs some friggin' laser beam attached to its friggin' head.

What set are you looking at? I see a blender, a shark, two snacks, and a serving tray.

Maybe. We're brothers after all, remember?
Oops, forgot the spoiler alert ;-)
