Very good for 2013. Would look quite good on display for motorbike fans i'd imagine.

Does anyone know what the difference between motocross and dirt bike racing is? I'm sure there's a difference but IDK what it is

Motorcross is specifically on an enclosed off-road track made specifically for that purpose. "Dirt bike racing" could include both motorcross and any off-road course over open terrain, I'd think. Also, there's the question of what exactly is meant by "dirt bike". It could be an off-road motorcycle, but we also used to call BMX-style bicycles dirt bikes, because they were bikes that were suitable for use in loose dirt (unlike, say, most Schwinn models, which were designed for riding on paved surfaces).

That's very controversial.

I think the best Technic set is the other motorcycle. No, not that one. Not that one either. Nope. Keep going. No, no, no...stop! That's it. Yeah, 2544.

Yeah that one’s probably a bit better

By in Canada,

Looks like a KTM bike. I should get one for my son , he has the real one.

I' not into motorbikes but I find Lego sets fascinating. Sure, big cars and trucks are exciting but cramming functions into very specific and smaller frame is truly fascinating.

By in Netherlands,

I prefer 8291 Dirt Bike because I'm more familiar with it. They look very similar to me, although that one looks sleeker an uses two Alpha Team cockpit windows in lime! This one uses more hoses though.

That said, this one has more realistic tyres that debuted here. They were since used in 70834 MetalBeard's Heavy Metal Motor Trike! and 42063 BMW R 1200 GS Adventure.

Trying to imagine what Lego ‘figs could actually ride this: definitely too big for minifigs, probably even for the technic figs the 80s/90s gave us. Some of the later Bionicle characters might be able to seat it, they started getting pretty tall towards the end

By in Finland,

It bothers me like nothing else that it's "moto cross" and not "motocross". Like, why??

By in United States,

I always thought it was motorcross, not moto cross. And it turns out it's actually motocross anyway. I don't know anything anymore.

I think you'll find that 42004 is the best Technic set. Funnily enough, it was released in the same wave as today's RSOTD!

By in Slovakia,

Just sold mine today (with 2 other bikes) what a coincidence.
The buyer arrived on motorbike, so even when I made less than planned (made an auction, the fight was light) ... from hoarder to a biker, I still consider it a win.

Nearly the same scale as buildable figures.

Found this one at a thrift shop for $1.50. Love it! Very quick build but looks great.
The one we call "the orange bike" despite only having around 12 orange pieces.

I got this as a gift as a kid and I put my hero factory figures on it, it was very fun. The pistons and the suspension are very fun to mess around with.
