Well, at least the Kitchen Faucet.

By in Germany,

Curious that the black fireman helmets were the most common color in it's first years, but became somewhat rare later on.

I think the sole white one in the fire station was meant to depict the commander/chief?

Wait, there's no fire!

By in Canada,

This was my last set of "regular" lego when i was a child, I had switched to technic already a year before and got some more technic sets after this set.

By in Germany,

My first childhood LEGO set with a (back in 1978) brand new minifigure.

By in United States,

I found the US version (556 Emergency Van) in my Easter basket many years ago. It still is a part of my collection of original Legoland town sets.

By in Turkey,

Nostalgia hits hard at this point. I was bothered by not being able to fit the minifigure in the vehicle but in couple of years that to became a thing of the past, so to say.

Entirely possible that’s a well disguised axe murderer

Tap. Not Faucet. Kitchen Tap.

Nice coincidence.

Anyway, it's nice to see some good-old, basic (in a good way) set, even if I wasn't even born then.

By in Japan,

Not sure what he is going to do with a bit of string, really needs that nossle part. Interesting need a sticker for the buttons on his plain black torsa. Still a fun set and glad they made this again in 6593-1 with a two part ladder, without having to buy a complete fire station.

What, you don’t think he’s about to axe the fire out?

I’m saying the chance he’s an axe-wielding psycho is more than 0

A Year 1 minifigure. One of the Founding Fathers of LEGO. We salute to you, FIRE005: Plain Black Torso with Black Arms, Black Legs, Black Fire Helmet. (Speaking of, what is it like to be identified only by the color of your clothing?

Plus the paper sticker of course, which despite getting my dad to apply never sat quite right in the centre of the torso, I also remember they moved around in warm weather due to the adhesive used..."

Well, you can’t axe him what his intentions are for another 75 years or so.

I think he's going to choke the fire.

Nevertheless, I have fond memories of this set from childhood.

Man, you wrote this just to make him look bad, didn't you? A real hatchet job.

What ever happened to Part of the Day? Why aren't we getting that anymore? I loved seeing the part and then looking to see which sets I had that included it.

It's been gone since the third of July - over three months ago. Huw axed it because of the consistent lack of images for the parts selected. (which is an issue LEGO is having, apparently.)
