By in New Zealand,

Hopefully a rogue wave doesn't hit them, otherwise they'll be swept off. Then they will have to launch another launch to rescue them!

They may be blind, but at least their boat floats!

Sometimes that sort of comment makes me feel old. But considering that this set came out four years before I was born, this is not one of those times.

Is this the police boat that hunts down PI-rates? ;)

Hmm, I’m not familiar with this Police Capsize set you speak of. I do think it’s a fair guess that Police Swim never made it past the concept phase during this era.

By in Turkey,

This is also nice but the updated 709 has a regular minifigure. Sadly less color, it seems.

Mine too. In fact, my very first one.

Still have most of the pieces and "minifigs" in a box, but years of play have left the hull pieces with almost zero clutch power.

One of my first ever sets and 5 my absolute favourite bath toy when I was a kid. Happy days!

Navigating when they have no eyes, steering when they have no arms, that’s pure seamanship!

I had a later, red one of this style of boats, and as I remember it had a detachable (and reasonably weighty) keel. Just checking the parts, and this had the same red keel too to keep it afloat, ideal for bathtime!

By in United Kingdom,

My grandparents own this and when I was younger we would always play with it in the bath when we stayed over there. It is actually a W set ngl

Hooray! I had this when I was a kid! Whenever I was able to persuade my Dad to play Lego with me, he would attach wheels to the bottom of the boat and just drive it in circles like a bus.

Me too.

Also, one of my only sets that wasn't Space.

Police Launch!
Police Lunch!

By in Netherlands,

A year before Technic launched and lego already used a (proto) bush and axle to make a mast. I'm proud of lego for doing this that early already.

The boat is pretty cute too. So stubby.

I'm not fond of the STAMP lifepreserver ring though. Boooo

By in United States,

I have so few memories of childhood it seems, yet this set, 4005-1 Tug Boat, and 375-2 Yellow Castle seem to occupy so many of them. :o)

And those keels!

My 1st sets are too old to make Brickset's definition of vintage :-(
