The set is called creator box, but on the box it's just creator, but then it should be just box, because creator is the theme the set is in.
So this is a 200 piece set with 200 extra pieces?

It's a 400 piece set with 200 extra pieces. I have often had quite a few extra parts but 200 is on another level!

But the box is just the box, which is packaging. It's not the set itself.
Back then it was 6 bucks for 400 pieces?! That’s a steal!

It's 200 pieces with 200 extra, thus 400 in total (there's a variant of the packaging that make it clearer).
These 200 pieces were selected at random and are part of a larger trend from the early 2000s sometimes called Stock-clearing or Lot-clearing boxes. Basically Lego had excess produced pieces and needed to get rid of them, hence why the selection wasn't consistent. It's been theorised that some of the pieces come from unreleased sets or later-runs that were produced but weren't sold to retailers due to customer interest.

Mind you though, they’re mostly basic bricks, plates and slopes. Still, it’s good value.

... so "Box box", then?
A box box of blocks!
"floor sweepings set"
I had to go look at bricklink to see what the heck was actually in this box. I'd never seen this type of semi-randomized contents before.
(quote start thingie, content 'borrowed' from bricklink)
The contents of this set includes elements which are constant from set to set as well as bonus pieces that may vary from set to set. The bonus pieces are inventoried as extras with a quantity of one each. Therefore adjustments may need to be made when using BrickLink's set part out feature.
Sets such as this are commonly referred to as "floor sweepings sets" for their inconstant contents and apparent inclusion of what seem to be factory color control rejects.
The Medium Lime clip parts inventoried here may vary considerably from a standard for Medium Lime. They were produced using PETE, a material Lego has had inconstant success with in matching a given color to ABS parts.
One large BrickLink seller determined from around 150 examples that each contains:
1 large standard parts bag (1 variety found: A)
1 small standard parts bag (2 varieties found: A/B)
2 large bonus parts bags (4 varieties found: A/B/C/D)
2 small bonus parts bags (5 varieties found: A/B/C/D/E)
(quote end thingie)
An extra 200 pieces compared to what?

No because as @PurpleDave pointed out, it's the bricks they're selling, and the box is just the packaging. It should be called 'Bricks with Extra Bricks'.
So nostalgic to see brick buckets/boxes that had a ziptied second box with random parts on top, or in some cases had bags dumped in the contents. I remember that you could fill a cup of such bricks as well at one point in the Blokker near me. Those parts were very ecclectic and notably had many of the large curved printed slopes from 4478 Geonosian Fighter and parts in dark blue and lime like curved bricks.
Sometimes it feels like there are 200 extra pieces in a set.

WHAT'S IN THE BOX!?!
(sorry, had to be done)
The photo gives the impression that a large green baseplate is included in the suitably sized square box, but the poor shopkeepers are left explaining to customers that is just an artistic render.
Ah, yes, a box named after my favorite song from Minecraft.
That looks like a robot chef.
Others have explained the contents, but I'll add that these floor-sweepings sets were completely amazing, especially if you drafted them. They were cheap and there was all sorts of very interesting stuff in them. In an era when acquiring weird Lego in quantity was very difficult, these were really something.
I once bought this set for certain parts, to find out that it contained completely different parts, of which some were actually quite rare.
