Happy second anniversary, Mixels! The first episode of the series, Coconapple, aired on this day in 2014.

Meanwhile, our Series 7 reviews have almost reached their conclusion. But first we must take a look at one more tribe, and the primary one of the three; the MCPD. These Mixels spread law and order among the citizens of Mixopolis.

Have I saved the best for last? Read on to find out!

41554 Kuffs

The eager-to-arrest Kuffs was first revealed at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2015 with Camillot and Jamzy, and out of the three, he was the one who immediately caught my attention and interest. I think he captures the look of a police chief or traffic cop very well.

Kuffs is named after the pair of handcuffs he is holding, and you'll be happy to know that a spare is also included!

Mixels Series 7 MCPD

Kuffs has a very literal long arm of the law which looks great and reminds me of Krader, Kamzo and Kramm who also sport one big limb and one small one. This also adds to Kuffs' poseability, combined with his hinged three fingers. Anything you want can be mounted on the jumper plate on his palm; perhaps the Nixel in Busto or the cookironi in Tiketz!

Like many other Mixels, he uses minifigure heads for eyes, and the police hats on top can be turned to convey different expressions.

Kuffs is a great set in all aspects and is my favorite member of the MCPD. And might I add, frying pans for sunglasses are an ingenious idea.

41555 Busto

Busto dare rivals Kuffs as my favorite Mixel of the tribe. As much as Tapsy is great as a living drum set, Busto is great as a living jail cell, and is adorable as well!

Mixels Series 7 MCPD

My only major complaint with Busto is his lack of articulation. His limiting hinged arms and legs make it very difficult to get him in any sort of exciting pose rather than static standing. It takes perfect balance to get Busto to even lean to the side.

Many will be pleased that two of the new 1x1 tooth/toe tiles, plus a spare, are also in this set.

Of course Busto is a prison, so he is going to need a prisoner to be trapped inside of him. Due to Busto's sweet nature, he can easily be persuaded to lift open his backside and let the prisoner escape... but who is that prisoner?

Mixels Series 7 MCPD

Logically, Busto is the MCPD set to include a Nixel, and the Nixel here looks very frustrated and desperate to break out of jail! My second favorite of the series, I love the little tooth sticking out. The crowbar that is instructed to be equiped to Busto would also make more sense to be applied to the Nixel.

Aside from one (albeit major) flaw, Busto is awesome.

41556 Tiketz

Tiketz is the super-speedy rookie of his tribe, ready to apprehend criminals at top speed. Tiketz is supposed to be based on a police motorcycle, yet the way they designed him is interesting and unconventional... but I quite like it!

With Technic beams (for the first time in a Mixels set), one can position Tiketz' two wheels forward and back. When both wheels are in opposite configurations, though, his lack of balance means he cannot be posed standing up. Tiketz also has two ball-jointed legs towards his back that serve no other purpose than as kickstands for him.

Just like sets such as 41529 Nurp-Naut and 41547 Wuzzo, Tiketz uses the 2x2 half closed eye tile; this time upside-down! I love this printed piece as it adds tons of personality that can change depending on what direction it is placed. And a ball-jointed jaw adds a lot to the set too, in my book!

Mixels Series 7 MCPD

In the same vein as Gurggle in Series 6 containing a Rainbow Cubit, Tiketz includes a little something extra too; a cookironi! Cookironies have only appeared in one of the first episodes of the series and one tie-in mobile game so far, so its inclusion here is a bit questioning... but I'm not complaining! According to his description, cookironis are Tiketz' favorite food. Hopefully in the upcoming special this cookie-macaroni hybrid will appear once again!

Mixels Series 7 MCPD

While I very much like Tiketz, he lacks the flair that Kuffs and Busto display. However, for some, his unique prop and parts assortment may make him a must-have, as well as the fact that he is needed to create the superb MCPD Max.

Verdict

Mixels Series 7 MCPD

The MCPD have got it all; a nice color scheme, creative designs, and another major theme covered in the Mixels universe! I'm sure City and Mixels fans alike will definitely want these guys. They rank right in between the Mixies and Medivals for me; my second favorite tribe in Series 7.

Conclusion

We have now concluded our reviews of Mixels Series 7. This was my third time reviewing a Mixels series for Brickset. I'd like to thank Huw for his amazing photography!

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Mixels just keeps getting better and better. While I have my favorites and least favorites, all nine characters in this seventh series are top notch in LEGO form and I cannot wait to see them in action when season three begins March 5th on Cartoon Network.

Now we wait for June!

You think Kuffs is wearing sunglasses? Not me: he's standing beside the keyboard at this moment and all I can see are the eyes of Boris the Animal from "Men in Black 3"

Um... what does Tiketz look like with the wheel folded back?

I don't really like these guys. They look too strange and lack poseability.

Is it a coincidence that all the mixels with one large hand's names start with "K"?
