Makes the Original Look Terrible
This set is actually awesome. This might be my favourite Legacy vehicle remake they've done so far. I've always enjoyed the original set; it's pretty solid, especially for 2013. I'm sorry though, the new version of the Earth Driller is leagues better. It feels way more developed, bigger, more show accurate, and can finally fit more than one minifigure. Suprisingly, the side build of the Giant Stone Warrior is an excellent addition to this set that really justifies its $50 pricetag. This is truly an elite upgrade to the original, which while I liked, can not be compared to this new version.

My Favorite Set Of All Time
This set, as the title suggests, is my favourite LEGO Ninjago set of all time, and likely my favourite LEGO set of all time. Mind you, favorite doesn't always mean best, but for me, this is the perfect LEGO set. From the dragon, to the Great Devour, to the minifigures, and even the shrine side build, I love every aspect of this set. The dragon defined my childhood as being the coolest thing imaginable to build with LEGO bricks. The four headed design just speaks to me, and wing flapping function is one of my favorites. The Great Devour is possibly the greatest side build in any Ninjago set, just the perfect match against a the Ultra Dragon. Plus, of course, this is quite possibly the most legendary minifigure selection ever, with two Serpentine generals, the first four-armed Garmadon, and of course Lloyd ZX - quite possibly my favorite minifigure of all time. I truly love everything about this set and even if modern design standards have changed, I will always adore this one for what it is, and I'm so glad to have it, even if I bought it 9 years after its release date. This set will stay in my collection for decades to come.

A Beautiful Centerpiece
This was the biggest LEGO set I ever owned for quite a while and I still love this thing. In a way, even though I really liked this set as a kid, I don't think I really appreciated until I had way more sets. It took some time to truly realize how beautiful and amazing this set was, but now I consider it to be one of the best Ninjago sets of all time. The monastery is one of my favorite locations in the entire show and I'm so glad to see it translated into a gorgeous one to one repllication. The craziest part is how they manage to keep the general structure and ornate design without having to make this set a $200+ or a D2C. Even though it doesn't a full interior, or really an interior at all, I never really minded that since the point of the set is to be the iconic training grounds for the ninja. The play features included aren't incredible by any means, however they do all add to set. Since the set has a front and back section, I like the customizability of being able to keep them together or seperate them. The back section is definetly more impressive, but they work together to make one accurate, and stunning build. I appreciate the figure selection as well. Even though I don't love the legacy one minifigures, I'm glad you get all six of them in one set. On top of everything though, the value of this set is spectacular: 1060 pieces for $80. Even with price to part aside, this set warrants its pricepoint. This is easily one the best sets we've recieved for the theme, and easily the best non-D2C legacy set.

A Worthy Opponent
This set is a very worthy remake of the original Golden Mech. While I still prefer that set slightly more for its design, as it's one of my favorite LEGO mechs of all time, this set has much better poseability and playability. This was one of the first-ever Ninjago mechs of any size to have full knee articulation, and it functions really well. Everything about the legs of the mech is super impressive. There is also pretty good articulation in the arms, and the swords in the back are moveable as well. I really like the design as well. I originally wasn't a huge fan of the color scheme, using so much white as opposed to gold, but I actually really like it now. It makes it feel distinct, while also giving it a clean look (although once again I still do prefer the look of the original). The only problems I have with the mech are some weird color inconsistencies outside fo the white and gold, such as the random bits of red and grey, but otherwise, it's great. I appreciate the inclusion of Kozu with the elemental blade as well.

The Best Double Bike Set, Easily
This set follows the format of the double bike set, a group of LEGO Ninjago sets I am not a fan of because of their repetition. Jay and Lloyd's Velocity racers, however, is suprisingly great. Even though both vehicles are fairly generic in concept, the execution of both of them really makes this a much more exciting set than it has any right to be. Lloyd's bike especially is super well designed and really unique (although a bit prone to falling over), but Jay's jet is still really solid, even if we've definetly seen simmilar vehicles in the past for him. At the end of the day, this set is not anything too special, as there aren't any exclusive figures or anything much outside of the builds, but this set is as well done as it possibly could have been.
