• A red Energy Crystal?! I thought I'd never see the day...

Written by (Unspecified , silver-rated reviewer) in United States,

That, for me, at least, is the best part of this odd drill bike. For anyone who needs a red Energy Crystal for their Rock Raiders collection, go to this inexpenceive Power Miners set! It includes Meltrox and Rex, I think is his name. The stone choper its self is modled after the Recon Bike (I think that was what it was called) in the Crystal Miner (MT-101 Mobile Mining Unit, Rhino One) Mars Mission set. This one has an all terain-style wheel and some orange saw blades to cut through rocks with. It has a small engine brick for decoration (if it was real, power) that I assume isn't too common. It has a place on the side to put a small, red crystal, and, if these are Energy Crystals, to power it. After all, the only reason these crystals are being mined is so that those Rock Monsters can't eat them and cause earth quakes. But the concept of a saw bike just seems a bit unusual to me, I just don't see how it could work out very well. I can't imagine it moving very fast to even be able to get to a place where it was needed, but whatever. So it is a small, fairly good, cheap set you can go buy to give your self something to do.

  • One of the best Mars Mission sets yet!

Written by (Unspecified , silver-rated reviewer) in United States,

That includes the not-released "sets" in CrystAlien Conflict. This LEGO master peice is the 2008 equivialant of the MT-101 Crystal Miner. This one is much better looking. With four legs that move (with some manual labor), an awesome super laser drill, and Astros (Trike Diver and Mission Commander)wearing back packs for the first time, I'd say it is well worth the $80 or so this set cost! The cocpit also comes off into a little ship (or mini-building, like in CrystAlien Conflict) very fast and eifficantly. The drill spins, too. I also had a good time building this and applying its stickers. Why do most people hat those? It is very impressive among your other LEGO Mars Mission sets, because, as I already said, it's the best one!

But I wonder why Trike Driver and Mission Commander/Infantry have back packs?I know it looks a little better, but why? Now it's harder to get them to stand up on non-stided surfaces!I almost forgot about the Alien ship! It has a new Alien Commander and the also new shiny metal-ish colored sticker that changes colors depending on the lighting and yor veiw. So that's good, too.

Having no more to say, this is a good one that you should get... probably.

  • the Boonta Eve Classic...

Written by (Unspecified , silver-rated reviewer) in United States,

this was also one of the first LEGO star wars sets, i think.now it's very well made, from the details on the pod rracers to the minifigures, th only real dwon side i can think of are those big tan bricks! now LEGO pur them there ro hold the pod racer together, made them tan to match Tatooine's sands, but they look horribale. but two minutes and a few transllucent bricks will change that!now this, and Anikan's Podracer, are the only two sets to come with dear Pad'mae (did i spell that right?), and, sadly, she has classic, vintage skin... as does everyone in this set. now Gas Ganno looks like a droid, and i sick of telling poeple who look at him "he's NOT a robot!". now all of the pod racers are covered in little bits a gadgets making them so great.Sebolba's pod has the flame thrower,Anikan's yellow flaps move up and down, and Gas Ganno's pod has lots of moving flaps! LEGO must've realy did their research!it even comes with some pit drods (the likness isn't too great) and small tool rack things i didn't see in the movie... this is definatly a great set for your LEGO Tatooine, and almost a must have for your LEGO star wars colletion! just wish it had more pod racers...

  • one of the better Mars Mission sets!

Written by (Unspecified , silver-rated reviewer) in United States,

the MX-71 recon drop ship is used by the astros to transport troops, vehicles, energy crystals, and captured aliens. in this case, the set comes with: Dropship Pilot, Miner, and two (or was it three?) alien drones. now, there are three parts to this set: the dropship, the mining truck, and the crysal extracter. ok, while the dropship is a long white bay with some decails throwen on to it, it is still very good. i like the way the cocpit is down at an angle, and, also, to whoever said "it has one of those hinges that makes it blow in the wind, well, what were you doing with it out side? and, well, that would be some VERY srong wind you're dealing with! the dropship is also surprisingly sturdy, and, while its engines may spin around some times, it still has some nice features. as for the mining truck, it has a a drill, and a bar so it can be picked up by the dropship. its drill also folds out. as for the extracter, it is a fairly cool looking alien ship for 2007. it has two pilots, some piping, and loads of guns. you could have some pretty awesome fights with the dropship and the extracter! all in all, i'd say this is pretty good set and a mUST HAVE to your LEGO Mars Mission collection. but why can't a dropship or extracter shoot in Crtsalien Conflict?

  • a nice little hover scout.

Written by (Unspecified , silver-rated reviewer) in United States,

this set is Jet on a Hover Scout and a little controll pannel of some sort. the scout is a little platform, like the one used on the foot of the old AT-ST, engines on the back and head lights in the front, and a strange brick with levers on it. as for the smaller storage rack thing, it has a map, a raidio, spare head light (for when you lose one of your other ones, i suppose) a pick ax, and (most important of all) an energy crystle! there isn't much playability with this set alone, but you realy can't go wrong with this little classic!
