It walks!
There are already a number of good reviews, but I have to mention how well this guy walks and stands in different poses. Much better than the bigger walkers.
The set also has a ton of great small parts for space MOC or SW MOC.
I also note that at the back of the instructions there is a page devoted to just all the figures from this wave and has a picture of each with their set number below.

What City Does Best
Some of these $20 City Sets are the best value in the line.
Box/Instructions
Typical bright colors, play features on the back, and 2 simple (maybe too simple?) instructions corresponding to 3 numbered bags (Book 1 for Bags 1 & 2; Book 2 for Bag 3).
Parts
A few useful Technic pieces as well as a bunch of flat orange pieces used for the repository on the back of the truck.
Minifigures
2 rather standard workers, one in blue detailed top with grey pants, and one guy with orange overalls. They come with a shovel and a broom.
The build
Easy, fun build. Some familiar aspects from previous City vehicles, as well as a couple of Technic pieces. A few decals which is also standard these days and I don't mind.
The completed model
Excellent. Six studs wide without mirrors/wheels. Also a dual-rear axle which gives the truck some ruggedness. This (back wheels) however is the poorest area of the model with little detail and some random colors showing.
The little garbage bin with "waste" looks great and can be used separately from the truck in your City world. Also note that it fits perfectly into the back of the truck.
I personally like the playability that comes with some Technic pieces in my City sets. With this truck you get both the traditional tilt feature with opening back, as well as the "arms" to lift and dump the smaller receptacle. As noted however, there is no way to retract the technic arms so you have to drive with them sticking out or up. The cab only holds one figure, right in the middle, which is pretty standard.
Overall opinion
To me, sets like this are the bread and butter of the City line - civic vehicles and the folks who work with them. At 248 pieces and two fun minifigs, you cannot go wrong at this price point. If you don't want to build it, then just throw it in the closet - it'll never be worth less than $20.

SOL CMF
When I picked this up for $6 at the Lego Store I was worried that the parts would be glued together. I am happy to report that the figure is removable and made of normal parts (the bottom is the sloped brick used for some women in the Castle theme). The crown as well as the torch and book are all removable, and you get a New York 2x4 printed tile that is also removable. Since the magnet has studs you can use that without the figure if you want, and still use the figure as a nice addition to your costumed characters or street performers.
One complaint is that clutch power is lacking in the connection at the waist.

A New-fashioned brick-built space ship
I want to add my endorsement of this cool little craft. In the states this is/was readily available for $23-$24, which represents great value (294 pieces 2.5 minifigs). While building this set and marveling at the use of limited interior space (two seats in the cockpit, spot for BB-8, spot for 2 blasters in the cockpit, storage bay for weapons and detonators), I appreciated the interesting parts including the use of the clear blue minifig heads in the propulsion system and the gun-metal macaroni pieces. There was also some interesting brick-building, and not a reliance on large pieces. I would think a printed cockpit couldn't be much more than the 7 stickers it uses but I guess not.
I feel like this set, like those space sets from the 80s, has enough interesting pieces that you can build a myriad of cool spacecraft.

Welcome addition
It is nice to be able to fill out your Lego City with "signs" of life and bits of detailed civic structure. At ten cents a piece there is good value in this unnamed set. Between the bike, the bottle, the frog, the produce, the longer pieces and the printed newspaper, I think you get a nice variety of specialty parts. Yes there are stickers but they are all generic and almost essential to the signage.
I bumped this up to an overall 4 stars because I like the concept I hope to see more Lego City sets that feature small builds depicting the tangible indications of human and animal life.
