(Another)One of the medium size chopper type

Written by (AFOL , gold-rated reviewer) in Germany,

Since helicopter rotor blades come in three sizes (small, medium, large) you can expect the model to have a certain size. This one resides between predecessors 8046 and 8068. All have a red and white colour scheme in common that is augmented by black accents.

The main model features two technical functions: A drivetrain for main and tail rotor and a winch.
The rotor is operate from the bottom which to me is a first. I think it enhances playability: The driving hand does not get near the rotor blades.
The winch is also very basic. It does not have a ratchet but relies on friction pin to retain the length of string.

Additionally there are openable side doors and a dual hatch door to stow mini figs. The set designers threw in a handful of grey pieces to add a floor to the main cabin. However, this can not be used fully since the rotor drive runs through the middle of it. The stretcher (without the lifting suspension) may fit into the back cabinet.

    Conclusion

This is a nice entry model. It is designed well and also very robust. I would rate it equal to 8068 and better as 8046:
You'll get a touch of technic that CITY sets do not offer but also retain a lot of playability.

I have built 'my' version from spare parts:
Replica of 42092 using different colour scheme
