Underrated? Close to classic town series

    Written by (AFOL) in Germany,

Until 1980, BASIC sets usually contained a selection of large, versatile bricks. Some of them came with the older maxifigs, but this changed in 1981. From this year, the classic town minifies came to some of the BASIC sets. But depending on the target age, the selection of bricks still was intended to be rather universal.

That changed in 1983 with the release of this set. It contains more decorative and even some rare parts, e.g. the door. You can build houses and buildings, that look nearly as pretty as the ones from the classic town series. But it is also possible to build other objects, e.g. a present box or a large scaled snail.

So, if you are a collector of the classic town series, consider adding this set to your collection.

725 is the inoffical successor, it follows the mediterranian design style of the early 1990s.
