My Grandmother's Garden ~ Nasturtiums & Walks With my Grandparents~Montecito before Prince Harry and Meghan

Along the lane where my grandparents lived was a stream. In one section the banks were covered in cheerful yellow nasturtiums. When I was a little girl walking every afternoon with my grandfather it was a favorite stop. The sunlight filtered through the trees and the little seasonal creek was so pretty. My grandparents lived in Montecito, California. This was years ago before it became so popular with celebrities. Before Oprah, Meghan and Prince Harry. Movie stars were not pursued by paparazzi. Back then it was a quiet little village where I walked on the beach, roamed Manning park and was treated to ice cream in the little drugstore. My love for Montecito came from my grandparents love.

Hi everyone! So happy you are here! Today the collection of paintings and ephemera feature white flowers and lush green leaves. The first picture of the magnolia blossoms was the start of this grouping. All the foliage and shade reminds me of finding a shady place to sit on a hot day. Just cool and peaceful. The last few days have been so satisfying as I discover more museums that share artwork online for all to enjoy. Very grateful for the ones who allow downloading for personal and educational purposes. I find it interesting how the different museums handle sharing their collections. Some are so generous and easy. Some are complicated and restrictive. Others do not share at all or charge quite a bit of money.

Free Digital Ephemera & Art. Summer Fresh Meadow Flowers Red Poppies, White Daisies, and Blue Cornflowers.

 Hi everyone! Hope you are having a peaceful and creative day. 

I have a question for you all. Every once in awhile I look at the 'stats' for my blog. Nothing fancy or complicated. There are a few colorful charts that show the number of page views, top referring URLS, keywords and the countries my visitors are from. Since Bumble Button is a personal, just for fun blog and not commercial I never looked into any details. I do like to see how many people visit and from what countries.  It is rather mundane and doesn't change that much.  Except for the last three months!  Half of the page views are from Sweden!  What is going on in Sweden? My great grandmother Elsa was from Sweden so I find it kind of fun and interesting. If you can shed some light on why, please let me know!

Now on to todays pretty pictures. 

Looking through books, online museums and ephemera I noticed bouquets combining red poppies, blue cornflowers, daisies, and wheat. I started saving them until I had enough for a blog post. Such a lovely happy combination of colors and textures. My guess is these bloom at the same time of year. Imagine coming across a meadow full of these flowers!

Vibrant Antique Victorian Ephemera Free Clipart for Making Journals, Cards, Scrapbooking.

 Hi everyone! So glad you found my blog. I hope you like the pictures today. Lately I have been looking for old advertising trade cards online. Very happy that I continue to find libraries that have digitised old scrapbooks from the 1800's. Most are full of trade and greeting cards artfully arranged. There are visiting or calling cards plus lovely Victorian die-cut scraps scattered about. Can't help but wonder who the person was that made them. I am just a tad obsessed with finding and "collecting" these little digital treasures. Very grateful to the libraries who make the scrapbooks and collections available online for educational use. My only frustration is that only a small number of Victorian and Edwardian scrapbooks have been digitised. I love spending a ridiculous amount of time organising, cleaning and repairing any imperfections. So many people are making greeting cards, journals, family photo albums and other paper crafts now.  I hope you find todays images enjoyable, pretty and useful for your personal projects. Much love to each and everyone of you, Louise

    Welcome to all the many new and returning friends. Glad you have come for a visit.

  Yesterday I went to Healdsburg, California. Healdsburg has a traditional downtown square edged by stores and businesses. In the middle of wine country it has evolved into a very trendy place. Wonderful shops, bookstores and cafes. The little fabric store is stocked with exquisite fabric some rarely seen in chain stores. I spent at least an hour if not more slowly looking at every bolt.

 I really needed to get out of the house and visit with a dear friend.

A while ago I posted an antique marriage certificate. I have since learned how to straighten, crop and paint an image. So here it is again. It is so beautiful!
