Free 1800's Fan Clip Art. Plus John Hubbard Rich painting 'The Idle Hour'

Hello and welcome to all of you.

 It is getting warm. Time to bring out the turbo fan to cool things down! As much as I appreciate my electric fan I really love antique hand held fans. They were a fashion accessories.  My great-grandmother's trunk had almost a dozen beautiful fans. All were very elaborate. They were made of feathers, inlaid shell, lace, and carved ivory. Some were hand painted. After more than 100 years the fans were very fragile and I opened them so carefully. The fans were given or passed down to various relatives a long time ago. I cherish my memories of going thru the trunk and finding the treasures inside.

Hi everyone! Time to get a post out.

 Sunday I had the great satisfaction of demolishing a big old useless, in the way, shelving unit. 'Me and my hammer' had broken that flimsy thing into a little pile of kindling in no time. I donated another car full to the salvation army. Slowly making progress. Playing with the Legacy buttons is a nice break.

It might not be valentines day anytime soon but I could not resit these beautiful old postcards. Edwardian era charm when everyone wrote to each other.

Hi everyone! For some reason I like old Victorian die-cut scraps. What a nice lady like activity finding pictures to arrange into a book. The Victorians would fit right in with our contemporary scrap booking and paper craft trends. My scrap book is in my computer! The hunting and gathering of pictures to "cut" and "paste" is what I have come to like. Even more than making a physical scrap book album. Finding surviving old albums is treat offering a glimpse into someone's life over a hundred years ago. The scraps in today's post have been cleaned up a little to restore the colors and any tears. Being well over 100 years old they are free for your use.
