Story Time

Very excited, as I was asked to be GD at Createful Hearts.  My card features an image from Createful Heart, call Story Time.   Had so much fun with this image, I have used paper piecing throughout, so there are a number of layers starting with the whole image.

The window scene has been coloured with copic pens and the curtain paper pieced.   The chair is also paper pieced, then comes the little girl, who has been coloured with copic pens as had the cat, the top layer.

All layered onto patterned paper and a stamped sentiment completes the card.

Snowfamily Carolers Gift Box

Back with another gift box today.  These have been so much fun to make.
I was very lucky to be the Blog challenge winner at Createful Heart in October. I won two beautiful images, that you will see in the coming weeks and was asked if I would like to be a Guest Designer for December.

I chose Snow Family for a Winter/Christmas theme.  The image has been printed 4 times, two of the prints have been coloured with Copic, Little Tipsy and Shin Tan Art Touch pens, fussy cut and then attached to the two uncoloured images to give them strength to stand up.

I had nearly ran out of the paste I had previously used and instead used Leni Texture paste (2 problems, takes forever and a day to dry, ended up using a heat gun and it dries a brilliant white, which looks great but very hard to photograph, kept reflecting off all the elements).  The last of the Stampin Up Embossing paste was used around the edges and flowers.

I have added a wooden Snowman, 25th sign and fences, together with a wire tree and an assortment of flowers.  Kept with the mauve/purple theme as it's for someone who loves those shades.

The box has been covered with mauve and white polka dot paper, silver ribbons also added.

 Bit closer

I took approximatelyt 40 pictures of this box, the sun and texture paste were not doing me any favours.  And of course, our little dog photo-bombed this one.  She only stands about 7 inches, but manages to be in a lot of my photos.

The flowers, this is not my forte, but I was really proud of myself with this arrangement.
