Oasis of the Seas

Welcome to our ultimate guide to Oasis of the Seas. We have recently spent a glorious two weeks sailing a transatlantic cruise on Oasis, and this isn’t the first time we have sailed on her.

Oasis of the Seas launched in 2009; at the time, she was the biggest cruise ship in the world. As the first ship in the Oasis class, she revolutionised cruising by introducing the concept of neighbourhoods and big ship sailing.

In 2019, Oasis was renovated under the Royal Amplified program, it is a groundbreaking ship with a capacity of around 5,400 guests at double occupancy (up to 6,296 maximum), a gross tonnage of 226,838 GT, and a length of 1,187 feet (362 m).

Oasis of the Seas Has Seven Neighbourhoods

The ship is divided into seven unique neighbourhoods, each with its own theme:

  1. Central Park: A serene open-air space with over 20,000 live plants, upscale dining options, and boutique shopping.
  2. Boardwalk: Family-friendly area featuring the iconic AquaTheater, a hand-carved carousel, and casual eateries like Johnny Rockets.
  3. Royal Promenade: A bustling hub for shopping, parades, and nightlife, with bars like the Rising Tide (which moves between decks!).
  4. Pool and Sports Zone: Features pools, whirlpools, a FlowRider surf simulator, a zip line, and a mini-golf course.
  5. Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Center: Offers a full-service spa, fitness classes, and a healthy café.
  6. Entertainment Place: Dedicated to shows and nightlife, including the main theatre, comedy club, and ice skating rink.
  7. Youth Zone: A dream for kids and teens, featuring Adventure Ocean (kids’ clubs), a nursery, and a teen hangout space.

Check out our posts and articles as we share our experience of cruising on ship we truly loved. We will look at the suites, dining and all the neighbourhoods to help you really get to know Oasis of the Seas.
