The free AI resume builder that keeps your draft yours

Type rough notes, let the AI hammer them into strong bullet points, watch the page take shape on the right, then save a clean PDF. No sign-up, no watermark, no paywall at the download button.

  1. HeatDump your experience as rough notes. Half sentences are fine.
  2. HammerAI turns notes into verb-led, measurable bullets. You approve every line.
  3. TemperScore it against the job ad in the ATS checker and fix the gaps.

What a recruiter sees in six seconds

An eye-tracking study by the job site Ladders found recruiters spend roughly 7 seconds on a first pass, mostly on name, current title and company, previous title, dates and education. That is why every CVForge template puts titles and dates on one line, bold and aligned.

Questions people ask

Is CVForge really free?

Yes. Every template, the PDF download, the ATS checker and the AI writing help are free. There is no account, no watermark and no “pay to download” step at the end.

Where is my resume stored?

Only in your own browser (localStorage). Nothing you type is saved on our servers. Text you send to the AI writer is passed to the model to generate a reply and is not stored by CVForge. Use “Clear & delete draft” to wipe it.

How do I download my resume as a PDF?

Press “Download PDF”. Your browser’s print dialog opens; choose “Save as PDF”, set margins to None and turn off headers and footers. The PDF keeps real, selectable text, which is what applicant tracking systems need.

Will the AI make things up?

It is instructed not to. The AI only reworks what you give it and leaves bracketed placeholders like [X%] where a number would help, so you can fill in the true figure. Always read what it writes before you use it.

Are these templates ATS-friendly?

Yes. All three are single-column, use standard section headings (Summary, Experience, Education, Skills), keep contact details in the body rather than a page header, and export as text-based PDFs.

Resume or CV?

In the US and Canada a resume is a 1–2 page summary for jobs; a CV is a full academic record. In the UK, Ireland, Australia and much of Europe, “CV” simply means what Americans call a resume. Use the CV maker for A4 and UK/EU section names.
