Red for Remembrance at Sweet Stampin' Challenge.

Time to share my card for Sweet Stampin' Challenge.  Our theme this fortnight is Red for Remembrance.   We'd love to see you join us with your RED projects.

I did a bit of mixed media for my background.   I'm enjoying trying out this technique at the moment.

My background is some linen like cardstock and I did ink smooshing, and stenciling with some Altenew Coral Bliss ink, some stamping and stenciling using Altenew Cloudy Night and Silver Lake.  Used two different Kaisercraft inks.   Added some little bits of a napkin and added some stenciling with Nuvo Shimmer Paste for some texture.  For my flowers I used two dies... the flowerheads are Altenew Petite Mountain Aven Layering dies cut from red card and the stems from Birch Press Peony Duo Contour layers cut from green card.  I added some Altenew dark purple ink for the flowers shadow areas.   I added the flowers to the card and added a pre-printed sentiment.  Finished with some gold splatters of watered down Slippery when Wet Lunar paste.

Anything Goes with Die Cut Divas.

We have a great challenge this month at Die Cut Divas - Anything Goes.

Our lovely sponsor this month is Birch Press.

Our sponsor will be giving away a $20 gift card to the winner of our challenge.  *Note: Challenge winner must have US address.

I have used a circle slatted die to cut out from the panel.   I added a green watercolour background that was a mop up of some green blending the other day.  There is a touch of gold paint on it which in real life you can see.  I used Birch Press Prima Peony Duo Contour Layer die set to cut out white flowers and stems.  I then used the first three inks from the Woodland Escape Fresh Dye inks plus some yellow ink to colour the flower layers.   And Jade and Eucalyptus Fresh Dye inks for the stems and leaves.  Added them over the circle with a little string bow.  Finished with a little sentiment from Elizabeth Craft Designs - Build your own sentiments 1 and some little pink dots.

Do come and join us at Die Cut Divas... just remember you must use your die cut machine to die cut/emboss on your card.

Inspired by Jennifer McGuire... Use up your patterned paper

This afternoon I watched Jennifer McGuire's latest video. (see it here) It was all about using up your patterned papers.  Boy is that girl talented!   Over the last few weeks I've been trying to use up some of my ginormous pile of paper!  I had a pack from Uniti (a brand that is local to my Warehouse store) on my desk so decided to try some of Jennifer's ideas.

Here is what I came up with.

I die cut the Birch Press - Prime Peony Duo die set from one of the papers from the Sunshine Floral pack.  I added a little bit of ink around the edges and over the pink paper I used green inks.  I then chose a pink marbled background from another paper pack.  To ground my flowers I die cut an oval from Gina K Master Layout 1.  I then used Altenew Classic Greetings stamp and die set to make the sentiment.   I used Altenew Rose Gold embossing powder.  I added some layers behind it for dimension.   A few gold metallic pearls from Pinkfresh Studios finished off the card.

Been a busy day as I had to go out to buy a new vacuum cleaner and a new mat for in the kitchen.  The old vacuum packed a sad yesterday.  Spent a bit more than I wanted to but it's a great little machine with great suction and very quiet!

Star Layered Flower - Birthday card

It's time for me to share my card for Die Cut Divas this month .  Our sponsor is

The Theme for October is Use A Layer Die Set or be sure to Layer a die cut on another die cut.

The prize is a fantastic $20 gift card to our random winner.

For my card today I've made a pretty Star Flower Birthday card.

I used Birch Press Star Layering Flowers made with some paper I made with some Lindy's Magical Shaker powders in Pink and Purples.   My teamie, Cindy, send me the Birch Press Pinpoint Contour Plate background.   I left it in the white and added the pink and purple flowers.   The sentiment is a Spellbinder's die cut from Popular Sentiment set.  Added some enamel dots.

Pink Star Flowers

I was in my craft room today as I had a design team card to make.   Once it was done, I got to play with a new die set that arrived last week.

The die set is Star Flowers from Birch Press.  I have paired it with some Orchard Leaves from Poppy Stamps.  I cut them all from white card and used Altenew inks blended onto them.  I add some lines to left hand side with my Scor-Buddy.  I added the flowers flowing down the page.  The sentiment is from Couture Creations - a stamp and die set.   A few Lucy Little Things - Ice Cube jewels finished the card.

I made this in mind for The Flower Challenge #84 - the theme is Use a Die

Later this year, Birch Press is sponsoring Die Cut Divas, so I'm sure that you will see the Star Flowers in actions again.

And as I opened the die package today and it was it's first use, I'm adding to Darnell's NBUS Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you get some time to craft over the weekend.   It's the start of Daylight Savings overnight, so one hour less sleep or one hour less to craft!   But the weather is not going to be spring-like with heavy rain forecast.   Great to spend time crafting!

Thanks to Birch Press from Die Cut Divas

Hi there.  It's the last day of the month at our Challenge at Die Cut Divas    Our sponsor this month is Birch Press Design who will be giving our winner a $20 gift certificate.

Today my card uses a Memory Box layering stencil that my teamie Arlene picked up for a superb sale price and sent to me.

I started by die cutting a cirle of pale blue card,  with a Spellbinders die and then used the circle stencils with three different Altenew blue inks.  I die cut a pale blue square with a Gina K Master Layouts die and backed it with a mid tone blue card.  I mounted the stenciled circle in the middle and then made a dark blue card base.  I die cut a Penny Black sentiment die from the dark blue card.  A few silver bauble gems finished it up.

Just a few hours till the challenge ends so do come and join us.

Big bold birthday

Hi there.   It's my day to share at Die Cut Divas.   Our sponsor this month is Birch Press Design who will be giving our winner a $20 gift certificate.

My card today uses a big bold birthday die cut that my teamie, Cindy, sent me.  It's the Big Birthday Sugar Script.  Cindy sent me a couple of the precut die cuts in white.

I took the inner die and used some Dark green Altenew ink to colour up.... be warned though - keep an eye on the tiddle.... mine decided to run away and I couldn't find it, hence the black gem.... I had some lovely green patterned paper but it wasn't quite the green I needed so I used the same dark ink to blend over it and the white layer.  Once the dark green die was added to the white shadow layer I added it to the blended background and stamped a little "happy".  To finish a little dark green butterfly die cut.  Loving this mini slimline size.

Do come and join us for our challenge

Tone on Tone Birthday Wishes

It's my turn to share at Die Cut Divas. Our sponsor this month is Birch Press Design who will be giving our winner a $20 gift certificate.

I was lucky that my Teamie, Arlene, send me some Birch Press die cuts - String Art Frame.  Today I have a Twofer using one the frames..

Card 1

I started by jnking up my card base - using all four inks in the Altenew Warm and Cozy set.  I then took the frame die and using the darkest ink (Firebrick) used my mini blending brush to colour it up.  I did this over some white card and got a bonus background.  I added the frame over my card base, and then used a circle stamp and sentiment from Gina K's Wreath Builder set.  A few little gold gems finished my card....

Card 2

This is how I used my bonus background

Loved the look of the background.  I stamped one of the Dovetail Butterflies from Altenew in the Firebrick ink and Obsidan black ink.  I used the matching die cut and added it with some 3D tape to the card.    I used the same orange as my card base to die cut the Birthday sentiment from Paper Roses.  I used vellum for it's shadow layer and then did a bit of stamp surgery on a sentiment from Altenew's Sentiment Strip set.   A few little black gems and it's done.

Our challenge goes on until the 31 July - come and join us at Die Cut Divas.
