For our next EP, we’re thrilled to welcome Paris-based producer Skwig, with his opus titled ‘Kindred EP’.
Member of Vernacular Orchestra, Skwig also navigates on his own within the bass music spectrum, as show his tracks on labels such as Le French Work or Exploration Music.
This first solo project has been the perfect occasion to make good use of his Akai samplers, and cook 4 jungle and rave infused tracks.
A few words from Skwig :
“Kindred is my first record and inevitably is about love & legacy. It was slowly made mostly with my dad’s S950 and DX7 over the course of three years at our dear parisian producer’s den.
Special love to Michel, Alice, Xif & So & Max, Pantxo & Gus & Jane, Mounir, the Vernacular Family, Snowball & Jumboclat & Yan + every Exploration soundboi, Freddypogo, Few Tips crew, La Dub War massive, Scott &Sandrine + all Bass Paradize crew, Elisa + everyone @ ForeverDNB, everyone @ La Station, everyone @ Rinse France, Qant & everyone @ Egregore Collective + everyone who ever had a dance, a glance, a set or a chat. Onwards now!”
Originally released in 1993, the Prodigy dancer and keyboardist's rave-ready, long-out-of-print EP gets a much-needed reissue. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 27, 2025
