Lead sections

edit

The reason KTVH has a different lead section from, say, WSEE is that KTVH is closer to how these need to look. This was hammered out in the good article nomination process for some other pages. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 23:02, 11 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi Danubeball, I noticed you assessed the article I wrote for WikiProject Wisconsin! Do you have any suggestions for how I could raise that assessment and prep the article for GA nomination? M4V3R1CK32 (talk) 13:40, 6 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

eh I don’t.I just fixed it so that it aligned with what the reviewer of the article said. Danubeball (talk) 20:49, 6 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Infobox

edit

I saw you made an edit saying something in the lines of needing to learn how to make infoboxes in the summary field. It has been about 2 months since you said that, but just making sure, have you learned yet? Suasufzeb (talk) 16:32, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Admittedly I haven’t but I did edit one in WPXN-TV to include QVC. Danubeball (talk) 16:38, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
You can see Help:Infobox if that helps. Suasufzeb (talk) 16:45, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Attribution for splits

edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from NBCUniversal Television and Streaming into LX (TV network). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 05:24, 2 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Proper way to insert images in infoboxes

edit

Hello @Danubeball. I am @Archer1234. I noticed your recent edit to DTV America where you added an image to the infobox. I want to let you know that the way you added the image was not done according to Wikipedia's Manual of Style (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE).

When adding an image to an infobox, thumbnails should NOT be used. Simply supplying the file name will work. For example, to use File:Image PlaceHolder.png, you can simply use |image=Image PlaceHolder.png. Captions should be specified with the |caption= parameter. Every infobox is different and the documentation for the infobox in question should be consulted for the proper parameters to match the image and caption.
To fix

Do not use the full image syntax:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

Instead, just supply the name of the image. So, in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg

and optionally:

|caption=Some image caption.

Hopefully you will find this information useful for your future editing. If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask. — Archer1234 (u·t·c) 00:53, 8 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Ecuador Goat War

edit

Why did you create Ecuador Goat War? What makes it a suitable redirect? Thanks (and sorry if I sound brusque), Edward-Woodrow :) [talk] 16:01, 14 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Eh, I thought it made some sense since it was a plan by Ecuador to get rid of goats, but in hindsight yeah it isn’t really that suitable as a redirect. Danubeball (talk) 23:08, 14 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Oh, no worries. I'm not really sure how to proceed here, though. Should we take it to Redirects for Discussion to see what other editors think? Edward-Woodrow :) [talk] 23:52, 14 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yeah. I don’t want it to be kill-on-site deleted, but if the redirect folds, then I won’t stub my toe over it, feel free to RFD. Danubeball (talk) 23:55, 14 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
