The scrutineers have finished reviewing the vote and the Elections Committee have certified the results for the Universal Code of Conduct Coordinating Committee (U4C) special election.

I am pleased to announce the following individual as regional members of the U4C, who will fulfill a term until 15 June 2026:

• North America (USA and Canada)
  • Ajraddatz

The following seats were not filled during this special election:

• Latin America and Caribbean
• Central and East Europe (CEE)
• Sub-Saharan Africa
• South Asia
• The four remaining Community-At-Large seats

Hello. For many years, community members have requested an easy way to re-use references with different details. Now, a MediaWiki solution is coming: The new sub-referencing feature will work for wikitext and Visual Editor and will enhance the existing reference system. You can continue to use different ways of referencing, but you will probably encounter sub-references in articles written by other users. More information on the project page.

We want your feedback to make sure this feature works well for you:

Hello everyone,

I'm Danny Benjafield from the Wikidata for Wikimedia projects development team at Wikimedia Deutschland. Over the past year, our team has been working to investigate ways to improve the relationship and integrations between Wikidata and the other Wikimedia projects.

After carrying out a Research project and talking to editors from different communities, we  decided to take Phabricator ticket: T66315 as our very first development task.

This task would move the Wikidata Item link (that takes you to the Q-Id of the corresponding article on Wikidata) from the ‘General’ sidebar menu, into the ‘In Other Projects’ sidebar menu.

Before we do anything, we want to make sure that the community is willing to participate and accept this change and collaborate with us.

One of the reasons we want to ask your community to help as a Pilot Wiki is that the Basque Wikipedia is already using Java script to resolve this issue. With our task, we would add our code to the latest MediaWiki version and this Java script code can be removed. (There should be no effects if it remains however, but checking there are no bugs or unforeseen interactions is part of our testing requirements.)

In short, we would like your approval to test this change on the Basque Wikipedia.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask them here, or you can post them to the Task Discussion page. Please feel free to reply in Basque or English, we will use machine translation to translate your responses.
