Kind of a Big Deal

The new Eyelet Outlet Card Suit Brads are beautiful and useful; to prove it, here's a PAIR of entirely SUIT-able cards!

For "You're Kind of a Big Deal" the sentiment is printed in a free font called Dear Sunshine. The Card Suit Brads are placed in a square configuration and the background is a panel filled with neatly lined-up strips of Playing Card Washi.

The "Marriage" sentiment (adapted from a Sign Guy meme on social media) is printed in a typewriter font, then the Card Suit Brads were added above, and a pair of Playing Card Brads affixed below. The background panel is Heart Washi.

Playing With A Full Deck

I think my brother will get a kick out of this birthday card because we are both shuffling a little slower now days! But so far, anyway, we're still playing with a full deck!

I put Eyelet Outlet's red and black playing card washi tape to work for me to create the back ground on this card, laying down strips on to my cardstock. On the top mat I added a few strips of skinny red washi tape. Here's a  little tip that I use to make sure my washi tape is straight. I use my scoring tool to put down some light scored lines to use as a guide when applying the washi tape.

I scanned the back of an actual playing to create the cards that are face down and then put some Eyelet Outlet playing card brads on top.

I'm off to make a few more of these for my stash because I thought of a few more folks who'd enjoy this one!

Why Did the Tiger Loose at Poker?

I can't help myself!  I love making silly joke cards for the kids in my life and this old tiger joke came quickly to mind when I saw the new Eyelet Outlet Tiger brad!  I knew he'd pair perfectly with the playing card brads, so away I went to create this card!

A touch of playing card washi tape and this card practically made itself!  The kids will love it!

If you're in the Duluth Georgia area this weekend, July 19-20, we will be at the Scrapbook Expo, so come on by and pick up some awesome embellishments!

Big Deal

It's Kim from Katydid Cards with you today...happy to be here!

When I saw the adorable Playing Cards added to the Eyelet Outlet a while back, I couldn't wait to get my hands on them!  And when I was actually holding onto them, I knew I had a "winning hand".  Here's the pocket card I made with them:

The cards paired beautifully with the Heart Pearls, Playing Card Washi Tape, and the Red Foil Washi Tape.  I used the now retired digital patterned paper from the Jackpot II collection by Stampin' Up on Basic Black cardstock which highlight the featured products nicely.  Here's a closer look at the cards.  The detail is amazing.

I like making pocket cards.  They're a nice change of pace from the top or side fold cards.  And here's the inside of the card which provides yet another opportunity to use the brads and washi.

On the reverse of the insert, I created a gift card holder.  When the gift card is removed, the recipient sees the cute sentiment.

I made another card previously using the playing cards and it's one of my all time favorites as it just makes me smile.  You can find it here.  And here's one by designer, Susan.

I love this card, too.  It would be perfect for someone who loves to play Poker.  Actually, I think I just love those playing cards and will continue to look for ways to use them!

It's in the Cards

It's Kim from Katydid Cards and today I'm sharing two cards featuring another of Eyelet Outlet's new clear stamps, Cards.  I think the Card Brads are adorable and I love working with them so I was thrilled when the corresponding stamp set was released.

My first card combines the Jack of All Trades image with not only the card brads but also the Tool and Screw Brads as well as the Chalk Board and Red Foil Washi Tapes.

I made a peek-a-boo aperture for my image and colored it with turquoise, red and black.  You could easily create this using circle punches to create the opening and the larger frame around it.

The tool digital paper was matted on a larger mat rimmed with the Red Foil washi.  I didn't originally plan on the band across the top, but it just needed something!  So I edged a strip of cardstock with the Red Foil again and topped it with the Chalkboard.  Then I added three screw brads to accent.

This card would be a perfect way to thank the Jack of All Trades in your life...especially if you're a master of none!

While the card above is masculine, this card is for any woman in your life who deserves to be Queen for a Day.   The Card brads also include Kings, so this could easily be made for holidays like Father's Day.

I also used the Playing Card Washi Tape to make the top panel and matched my cardstock to that.  I inked the image with black ink and centered it at the bottom of the circle leaving the perfect space for three Queens.

There are more great images in this set and I'm looking forward to incorporating them into my cards.  AND to see what my Eyelet Outlet DT sisters will create.
