What could be more appropriate for Father's Day than an absolutely diabolical "Dad Joke"?! Especially one created specifically to show off our brand new, super-fun Eyelet Outlet Cooler and Soda Brads! The first part of the sentiment is computer generated (this free font is called Modern Typewriter) and the second part is diecut, then adorned with brads. A mat of Multicolored Dot Tape and some white Round Sequins emphasize the bubbly aspect of carbonation, and finish off the design.

To a "tool-riffic" Dad!
Father's Day is just around the corner! Here is a fun card for you to create!
I started with a standard size card, stamping and coloring the bottom trim and using the black glitter washi and tape measure washi to create the background. I stamped, colored, and fussy cut various tools to add dimension. I stamped my sentiment and added the tool brad embellishments.
For the inside I added a few "tool" sayings and created a border along the bottom using the tape measure washi and more stamped, colored, and fussy cut tools! I also added a black enamel dot for a nail head. As in, "you nailed it!" I hope you enjoy!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Don't forget to shop at Eyelet Outlet for your crafting needs!

Happy (Almost) Father's Day
It's nearly Father's Day, but there's still a little time to make an extra-special card featuring some of the things Dads love: grillin'... (thanks to Eyelet Outlet BBQ Brads); chillin'... (courtesy of our Beer Brads); and crusin' down the highway... with our Classic Car Brads!
Here's fair warning regarding my (Lauren's) cards for the rest of the summer: I am OBSESSED with the new Extra-Wide Sky Washi Tape! At 50mm (almost 2") you can cut a nice, long, easy-peel strip and that's the whole sky on a slimline card. I punched cardstock grass to meet it about a third of the way, et voila... instant landscape! I spelled out the central word of my "Happy Father's Day" sentiment in chunky cork alphabet stickers and clustered my BBQ Brads, Beer Brads, Classic Cars, Mini Bees, Sun and Cloud Brads around them; then added a thin yellow cardstock mat and a slightly thicker one made of Wood Washi, to serve as a frame.
There are plenty of other traditional Dad-related items in the EO Store; you could rock a Camping theme... Fishing theme... a Food and Drink theme... a Motorcycle theme... or a Tool theme; and if your Dad is less traditional, I bet we still have something fun that will work!

I Treasure You Father's Day Card
Do you like pirates? My husband loves the pirate theme so I decided to make him a card fit for the best pirate I know! Arghh!
I'll admit, this took some time because of the stamping and coloring but I know he'll love it so it's all good! The fancy fold base card is not hard and very quick to make so you can always simplify it and still get a great card.
The card base is a fancy fold style called Dutch Door because of the two flaps at the bottom that meet in the middle and the flap for the top section. When displayed, the card front rests on the flaps and it turns into a sweet easel card. This is digressing a little but I was a child in the 70's and I thought Dutch doors were the bomb back then! It was fun to think of that while I was making this one.
I used three brad sets in this card. They were perfect pieces to enhance and make this card extra special!
The pieces needed for these cards are:
Solid Card Stock:
Main card base - 4 1/8" x 10" Score at 5 7/8"
Flap for the doors - 2" x 8 1/2" Score on each end 2 1/8"
Designer Paper: Front Flap - 3 7/8" x 3 7/8" Inside of Card - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8" 2 pieces for the door fronts - 1 3/4" x 1 7/8"
Front flap mat - 4" x 4"
Inside mat - 5 3/4" x 4"
For outside and inside door mats: 1 7/8" x 2"
Front image and sentiment - approximately 2 1/4" x 3 1/2" (cut with a steel stitched rectangle die) Inside image and sentiment - approximate 2 1/4" x 3 1/2" (cut with a steel stitched rectangle die)
To finish the front of the card, I attached the male pirate image to a gold mat cut from fine gold glitter card stock at approximately 3" x 4 1/4". I embellished the mat with a Compass Brad. I think you'll agree that gold on the mat and the brad is gorgeous on teal! The matted image was then glued so the bottom is about an 3/4" below the flap. This creates the notch that holds the doors open when you display it. The front flaps are decorated with sand dollars and starfish from the Sea Shore Brad Set. The pirate stamps are from Jessica Lynn Originals called Pirate Brentwood Owl. The fish & treasure chest scene is from a Stampendous set called Nautical Treasure.
As you can see, this card folds flat for mailing or giving. I found the brads were perfect to tuck the flap shut before mailing and it makes a pretty presentation before they open the flap and get the full effect of the design.

Cheers, Dad!
My first card features the new Beer Tape, which mixes beautifully with the Beer Brads as you can see! (It also coordinates perfectly with the Beer Stamp Set, though I didn't use that this time.) I lined strips of tape up neatly on scraps of plain white cardstock, then used the "D" and the "A" from a really fun oversized set of chipboard aphas as templates to trace and cut out my letters. I had planned on running the "CHEERS" strip through the center of "DAD", but it turned out to cover up a bit too much of the tape for my liking, so I wound up moving it further down, instead.
I've used the Tool Tape as the background on my second card, matting it on a panel covered with Hardwood Floor Tape. I spelled out "Happy Father's Day" with tabbed letters as well as some chunky cork stickers; the latter i attached to a panel of silver metallic cardstock which I'd run through a diamond pane embossing folder. I attached the panel to the card with Screw Brads, which are incredibly useful. Each packet contains both large and small sized, as well as flat and phillips heads. This tape would also coordinate perfectly with our Tool Box and Nail Brads as well as Saw Brads and also the Tool Set, which contains hammers and wrenches!

It's in the Cards
My first card combines the Jack of All Trades image with not only the card brads but also the Tool and Screw Brads as well as the Chalk Board and Red Foil Washi Tapes.
I made a peek-a-boo aperture for my image and colored it with turquoise, red and black. You could easily create this using circle punches to create the opening and the larger frame around it.
The tool digital paper was matted on a larger mat rimmed with the Red Foil washi. I didn't originally plan on the band across the top, but it just needed something! So I edged a strip of cardstock with the Red Foil again and topped it with the Chalkboard. Then I added three screw brads to accent.
This card would be a perfect way to thank the Jack of All Trades in your life...especially if you're a master of none!
While the card above is masculine, this card is for any woman in your life who deserves to be Queen for a Day. The Card brads also include Kings, so this could easily be made for holidays like Father's Day.
I also used the Playing Card Washi Tape to make the top panel and matched my cardstock to that. I inked the image with black ink and centered it at the bottom of the circle leaving the perfect space for three Queens.
There are more great images in this set and I'm looking forward to incorporating them into my cards. AND to see what my Eyelet Outlet DT sisters will create.

I'm Your Biggest Fan!
My favorite thing about this stamp set is that it's double duty and works perfectly with both the #1 Foam Hand Brads and also with the vintage-style fans from the Telephone and Fan Brads set.
I went sporty with my first card, pairing the sentiment "Have a FAN-tastic Day" with a Foam Hand and giant oversized letters I made using the super-fun Sports Tape.
I had already chosen a different paper for my second card when I stumbled upon this Echo Park "Vintage Fans" paper at my favorite papercrafting shop, Paper Anthology. The irony is that I was attracted to the *other* side of the paper which has a cool woodgrain pattern! Having seen the fans, however, needless to say it only took me about 15 seconds to swap out my original choice. This time I've added the Fan Brad right to the label shape which holds the sentiment, "I'm Your Biggest Fan".
Of course, these ideas aren't only for Father's Day, they'd be equally good for most any occasion, like Dad's birthday or any other milestone. For that matter, if you swap out "DAD" for a first name, or swap the letters for stars, hearts or a stamped image, the possibilities are nearly endless! I hope you'll be inspired to improvise... I think the Fan Stamps will blow you away, lol!

A Father's Love
I think the Tie Brads at Eyelet Outlet are as perfect a choice as you can get for making a Father's Day card. And, although Father's Day isn't 'til next month, now is the time to think about your card making or hand crafted gifts.
I made a card and a gift card holder any Dad would love. And they came together rather easily. Gotta love that!
The card was made using a cut file from the Silhouette store. It was a "flip-flap" card meaning there was an extra piece to it so it was a traditional card with the flip card front. I got rid of the extra flap, though, and just used the flip portion. Okay, so enough of all this flip-flapping.
I loved this sentiment, also from the Silhouette store, and thought it would be the perfect backdrop for the tie. I colored and sized it to match the tie brad and then print and cut it. The card was made using Marina Mist, Night of Navy and Real Red card stocks. To give the red a masculine touch, I used the Houndstooth embossing folder.
But the star of the show is definitely that tie. Check out how great this looks! I'd say this is a real "power tie"!
The gift card holder was also made using a cut file from the Silhouette store; actually I combined two separate files to make it.
I traced around the tie and scanned that outline into my Silhouette. I offset it a bit to create my opening in which my ties sit and aligned three across the front. I used the same card stock colors and layering as the card. I also embossed with the same folder.
Inside, a sentiment I think most Dad's can relate to. The slot is there for the gift card...just tuck it in and let Dad pick his own gift. I bet it won't be a tie.
