You're Not Old...

...You're a Classic! Eyelet Outlet Driving Brads are the perfect accent for masculine cards. They pair beautifully with our Classic Car Brads of course and there are lots of terrific Washi Tape selections to support the theme. In this case, a panel of wide Map Washi is framed with strips of Road Tape; then that panel is offset on a slightly larger one made of Tire Track Washi framed in Glitter Black Tape. A Compass Brad is the perfect finishing touch.

Check out all of the wonderful Brads, Tapes, Bling, Flowers and more in the Eyelet Outlet Store!

Best Fishes

I (Lauren) have made a "Best Fishes" birthday card* for my brother nearly every year for probably a decade. This version features a background made of Ocean Washi, a sentiment diecut from Wood Tape backed with scraps of cardstock, and in the starring role our Eyelet Outlet Fish Brads (they're on sale!), plus some of the Trout from the Trout and Bass set.

Did you know that there's an EO Fish Stamp Set, as well? Plus cute and colorful Fish BradsFishing LuresFishing Poles and several styles of Fish Tape! Check out all of the Fishy Goodness at Eyelet Outlet!

can literally NEVER
resist a diabolical pun!

We're Grillin' and Chillin'...

...with the fabulous brand new Eyelet Outlet BBQ Brads!

One of my (Lauren's) favorite Brad Tricks is to make a smaller shape or frame for the brads to live in, which can also serve as the focal point for the card. In this case, I diecut three circles of different sizes and made a composite scene with Sun and Cloud Brads in one; the silver grill and blue apron from the BBQ Set... plus a Beach Umbrella; and one of the beer bottles and the mug from our Beer Brads. My background is diecut clouds and I've added some paper-punched grass to ground each circle and add to the vibe of outdoor fun.

I hope you'll be inspired to make a card or project featuring your favorite summer activity; I guarantee we have an Eyelet Outlet brad style that will work!

has never actually used a grill irl!

Yard Work

It's Kim from Katydid Cards with the observation that it seems there's never a shortage of yard work, regardless of the time of year.

Eyelet Outlet's new Mower & Rake brads, with some help from some oldie but goodie brads, are just the thing for cards or scrapbook pages to help celebrate the "lawn ranger" in your life.

On my first card, I also used the Mini Leaf, Mini Bee, Mini Stitched Flower, Dragonfly, and Garden Tool Brads to make four little vignettes.  In two of the circles, I used washi tape, Skinny Green and Hardwood, to serve as the grass and soil.  A final touch for the greeting, I added black Pearl Bling in three sizes.

Here's the inside of the card, clean and simple.  This card would work equally well as a birthday card or even a thank you for a landscaper.

And here is the Rake again, this time paired with the Leaf Brads and Wood Washi Tape.   The rake makes for the perfect checkmark on this Autumn To Do list.

Inside is some good advice because, let's face it, jumping in a pile of leaves is FUN!

Thanks for stopping by!  See you next week!

Hunting Season

Eyelet Outlet Duck Brads are perfect for the hunters in your life (or for beautiful outdoor scenes). Get them while you can! They are being discounted so we have room for new stock and styles!!

I combined them with beautiful papers from Hunter's Paradise by Designs by Reminisce.  I love the little guy perched on top of the sentiment sticker.

I'm always amazed at the beautiful level of detail on those small brads ... like little works of art.

Here's another using the bottom half of the same piece of 12" scrapbooking paper.

Keep an eye on the store for lots of soon-to-be released fall and winter designs.

Did you know we have a Pinterest Board to showcase Eyelet Outlet Design Team Creations?

SUPER Valentines

Super-Hero Valentines are fun for little guys (and probably some bigger guys too) ... and Eyelet Outlet's Super Hero Saying Brads make them even more fun.

I started with a Captain America sticker and then added my Bang! Pow! & Boom! which lends a fun comic book feel.

I printed my sentiment and put the card together using this week's CAS(E) this Sketch.

Spider-Man works great too with some extra Pow! and Boom!.

Eyelets add just the right amount of dimension while still keeping your cards mailable.

Determination & Discipline

Today I am making cards that feature the Army Men Brads ... these cards are a great way to send encouragement and appreciation to those serving in the military.

I combined them with Express Yourself Military Stickers from SRM Stickers for some quick and easy card designs.

I attached my Army Men Brads to a piece of white cardstock and then attached that strip of paper to my card front using foam tape.  I added a strip of designer paper and three stickers to finish the design.

Here's a close-up of the three different brads included in the set.

I used the same technique for this design, this time only using blue stickers.

Best Fishes to the Grads and Dads!

Hi guys, it's Lauren again, with a question for all you cardmakers: Is it just me, or are "guy cards" harder to make than more feminine designs? For some reason, I just don't seem to get as many lightbulb moments in terms of masculine papercrafting themes, so I'm always extra excited to find products that do half the work for me, like these completely awesome Eyelet Outlet Fish Brads!

I mean, seriously, cardmaking doesn't get much simpler than this, does it? I just watercolored a bit of ocean, stocked it with Fish Brads, and stamped a sentiment. Easy peasy!

Not everyone loves to paint (and if you aren't into it, don't worry... I'm probably obsessed enough for both of us!) in which case, another great way to construct a water scene is to just tear and layer a few paper scraps. If you hold the paper right side up and tear *towards* yourself, you can even get a bit of the white core to show, like the froth on top of waves! Then all you need are some more fish. In this case, we're casting our line in hopes of Trout and Bass Brads, but there are plenty of other critters in the "Ocean" section of the Eyelet Outlet store.

Once again, I didn't need much else to finish off, so again I've stamped a sentiment-- I love "Best Fishes" for Father's Day, but it works for birthdays and other occasions, too. A little bit of machine stitching always adds texture and interest, and guarantees that all my layers are firmly attached!

Need more ideas for grads, dads and other lads? Why not check out the "Boy" and "Sports" sections at Eyelet Outlet?

Hi, I'm Lauren, when I'm not hanging out here at the Eyelet Outlet blog, I'm a big fan of the EO Facebook page
Oh, and I have a bit of a blog... which you can visit, if you like! ♥

Measure Twice ... Cut Once

For me, Father's Day cards are often all about the tools.

I come from a family of fix-it-guys who are always building or repairing something.

Father's Day was the perfect opportunity to break out the Tool Brads for an easy clean & simple design.

I used the hammer & wrench brads together with a journaling card and stamped Father's Day Sentiment with this week's CAS(E) this Sketch.
