Message In A Bottle

You'll often find us making a scene here at Eyelet Outlet. Some of the products I recommend keeping on hand for creating a scene type card include our sun and cloud brads, wide water washi tape, as well as our wide sky washi and wide grass washi tape. These are some of the ones I reach for first when building my scenes.

I used the wide water washi tape for today's "Meme Inspired" card. This is the most amazing tape! It's so realistic you'd think you're going to get your hands wet handling it!  🤣🤣 I also used the sun from the sun and cloud brad set. Since I was building a beach scene, I also added our corner shell brads. Be sure and check out all of our various shell brads and other ocean themed brads in the Vacation-Summer section of our website.

I trimmed the edge of the washi tape to give it a bit of a curvy side to simulate waves before applying it to my card. That's super easy to do with this particular tape, since it has a paper backing that you peel off to adhere. There's no sticky mess getting on your scissors.

All of the images I used for this card are from Cricut Design Space and if you are a Cricut user and would like to create this card, I've shared the file with the Cricut Community within Cricut Design Space.  You can find the file here.

Have you seen the new brads at Eyelet Outlet? The new shark brads are a great addition to our other sea life brads.

For this birthday tag I used a cute shark from Cricut Design Space and then added some of our beautiful Wide Water Washi Tape and a school of sharks with a few of the new shark brads.

I hope you have a JAWSOME time creating with our new shark brads, too!

Chillaxin' at the Beach

Happy Sunday and welcome to a day at the beach! Since I can't make a trip to my happy place, I decided to make a beach scene I wish I could live in! I really enjoyed making this project and it was made extra special with Eyelet Brads and Washi Tapes!

I used the Spellbinder's July Small Die of the Month to make the woman, towel, bag and hat. Her floral swimsuit and matching tote were made with Flower Washi Tape. I first put a strip of the washi on white cardstock and then I cut the pieces with the dies. The flowers are just the perfect size for these pieces.

The water in this background couldn't have been easier. I used two strips of Water Washi Tape. It looks so realistic doesn't it? Then I cut the sand out in kraft cardstock and added texture with fine tipped black and white pens. I attached the lady to the sand and then set the Shell Brads and the Wine Glass Brad.

I applied the sand and lady to the card base overlaying the Water Washi. Then I added two Flip Flop Brads and the Wine Bottle Brad. I added the final sentiment to finish the card.

REEL Great Dad

Father's Day is around the corner and Eyelet Outlet has your card making covered with great Dad brads!

The star of this card is that water!  It was my first time using the Eyelet Outlet Wide Water Washi Tape and let me tell you, it is so cool!  It may not come through in the photo, but you honestly think your hand will get wet when you touch it!

I also played on my REEL theme by using three of the Eyelet Outlet rod & reel brads.  Of course, what fishing themed card would be complete without fish brads!

Thanks for visiting the blog today.  You can also find us on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.

Fun Card for That RVing Beach-Loving Friend!

Hey everybody! Leslie here sharing a super cute card which is perfect for that RVing beach-loving friend! Everybody has a few of those, right?! This was a fun scene to create and features our Water Washi Tape, Sky Washi Tape Wide, Tall Palm Tree Brads, Sun & Cloud Brads, BBQ Brads and Flip Flop Brads. I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from white cardstock along with a layering panel from 80# white cardstock which I covered with a strip of Water Washi Tape and a strip of wide Sky Washi Tape. I tore a strip of kraft paper and adhered it to the bottom of the panel. I hand-cut a sand bar from brown cardstock, adhered it to the washi tape seam, and added two Tall Palm Tree Brads. I added a die cut and embossed camper, a BBQ Brad and Flip Flop Brads. I stamped the sentiment in StazOn ink, added a sun brad from the Sun & Cloud Brads, and adhered the panel to the card base.

I cut the inside panel from 80# white cardstock and embellished the bottom with the leftover piece of torn kraft paper used on the front. I stamped the sentiment in blue ink and layered the panel on blue cardstock.

Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

Great nautical masculine card with our new brads!

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Leslie here, sharing a nautical masculine card for that boat-loving friend featuring our new Boat & Lighthouse Brads! I've been fixated on water/beach cards all summer long, it seems, and these new brads couldn't have hit the store at a better time! I also used our Anchor Brads along with our Wide Sky Washi Tape and Water Washi Tape which made the base for a very cool little scene! I fashioned a cliff from kraft cardstock, stamped some birds and shoreline greenery, and then added a sentiment and the brads. Easy quick card!

I embellished the inside panel with a strip of Red Skinny Washi Tape and a strip of blue cardstock, stamped the sentiment in blue ink, and layered the panel on the blue cardstock.

Simple beach-themed card for that beach lover friend!

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Leslie here, sharing a fun beach-themed card featuring our new Flip Flop Brads that hit the store earlier this week! Of course, I had to pair them with a Sun Brad and a Seagull Brad along with Wide Sky Washi Tape and the Water Washi Tape to complete the beach scene! Beach scenes are so much fun to create with washi tape and brads, and of course torn kraft cardstock for the sand, and makes for a super simple no-fuss design. I added a stamped, heat embossed and die cut Adirondack chair and an awesome sentiment that really compliments the scene.

I embellished the inside panel with strips of the cardstock used on the front, and stamped another cool sentiment that compliments the design beautifully. This card couldn't have been any easier! ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

Ahoy Matey! by Janet

Hello my fine feathered friends! Have you checked out the new brad sets in the store lately? I used the Tropical Bird set on this square card to embellish a 3D pirate sticker I picked up at the Dollar Tree.

I combined other nautical themed brads to take this card to the next level. In addition to brads, I used the wide Sea Washi tape in the background and Copper washi tape as a border.

Let's get our Fishing Rules straight!

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Leslie here, sharing a fun Father's Day card FULL of awesome brads and of course some washi tape! Yep, Father's Day will be here before we know it and we need to get our Fishing Rules straight beforehand, lol! ;)

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base from shimmery black cardstock. I built a little beach scene using Sky Washi Tape-Wide and Water Washi Tape for the background. I printed the Fishing Rules sign on kraft cardstock, adhered it to the background, and embellished it with
Fishing Lure Brads, a Fishing Pole Brad, Trout and Bass Brads, a Wine Brad (don't laugh - I didn't have any beer brads and the wine bottle looked like it could pass for a beer bottle, lol!), a Seagull Brad and Shell Brads. I layered the background panel on kraft cardstock which gave it a nice contrast against the black card base.

I embellished the inside panel with strips of kraft and black cardstock, adhered a stamped and die cut sentiment, and layered it on kraft cardstock.

Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

Hoppy, Hoppy, Hoppy...

...Valentine's Day! Just in case you need a few fast card ideas before Friday, I (Lauren) have three takes on HOPPI-ness, Eyelet Outlet style!

My first card features the ever-adorable Frog Brads, on a background of Cloud Washi and Water Tape, with half a Paper Flower serving as a lilypad. I used nested heart dies to trim my little scene into an appropriate Valentine shape, and added my sentiment with mixed letter stickers. At the very end, I added three white Heart Pearls.

It's less obvious at first, but beer can also be described as "HOPPY" so my second card features one of the bottles and a mug from our Beer Brads on a background of Beer Tape, sitting on a bar made of Hardwood Floor Washi. A few yellow Heart Enamels and we were good to go!

Heading back into cuuuuuute territory, this sweet little pair of Rabbit Brads (the packs contain both styles) is surrounded by diecut hearts made of Tiny Heart Washi and Checked Tape, with a couple of Heart Brad accents.

Eyelet Outlet has a brad (and a style of tape!) to make a card that embodies pretty much ANY diabolical pun you can devise. For Valentine's Day, St. Pat's, Easter and beyond! ♥

wishes you the very
HOPPIEST
of Valentine's Days!

Narwhals, Narwhals! (Plus Brads and Tape)

I don't know about you, but I (Lauren) look forward to Spring more and more every year. I love the warmer weather, watching my lawn turn green and my daffodils bloom and... I know there will be new Brads and Washi Tape in the Eyelet Outlet Store! There are about three dozen new varieties of tape, and frankly I love them all. But when I saw the Cloud Washi and Water Tape, I immediately wanted to "make a scene"! But literally. In card form. Like this:

Of course, it didn't hurt that I had a brand new, adorable narwhal stamp that I was dying to use. But this idea is a bit more flexible than it seems at first. Because you could swap the narwhal for a whale, a dolphin, a mermaid... basically ANY cute sea creature would work! I got a bit artsy with my sky, using intermittent strips of the Cloud Washi, torn to fit around lyrics from The Narwhal Song, which I happen to love. But you could skip the typing and just make a nice neat cloudy sky above a Water Tape ocean. Once I had my background finished, it was time to have some fun with brads! I added Sun and Clouds towards the top, a pair of cute Fish Brads and a pink Heart Brad. My card is a 5.5" square, but this would also work as an A2. You'll notice that at every stage of this design I've said, "...but you could do *this* instead..." which I felt was starting to sound a bit lame. So eventually I figured I'd better actually make a card using all of the "insteads". Here it is now:

A nice neat Cloud Washi and Water Tape seascape, diecut into a heart to hold my Narwhal, plus those fab Sun and Cloud Brads again. And since I keep my Sunglass Brads right next to the Sun and Clouds, I noticed that they were a pretty good size for the narwhal to wear, so I added a pair from the Colorful set. Instead of patterned paper for a background I used an older Blue and White Dot Tape in the same color family. I even added a slightly more mainstream sentiment!

I hope you'll check out all the fun new Washi Tape in the EO store (the newest styles are all conveniently located at the top of the decorative tape section, with an asterisk before their names) and maybe even "make a scene" of your own! ♥

looooooves narwhals!
