Heard It Through The Grapevine

Here's an easy birthday card for a wine-loving friend. I printed the grapevines and sentiment, then simply added the amazing brads to top it off!

I used a couple bunches of grapes. The package comes with three colors of grapes (red, purple and green) and I opted for the purple ones today. The Eyelet Outlet wine brads brought the celebration to this card! The package includes red or white wines, and I went with red today.

Just a Note For A Friend

Hello friends! It may be October but here in the southern states, it's just the beginning of fall. The temps are still nice and warm and perfect for relaxing on the porch. It's a perfect time of year to be lazy and maybe even sneak in a little nap. That's what this gentleman is taking advantage of. He's got a cocktail and some wine, a stack of books, and is surrounded by plants including cacti in pots. He's got a hat covering his eyes while chilling out in a hammock. He appears to be enjoying life!

It's a lot of fun to use stamps in my stash to create scenes like this one. EO's brads always add a touch that just can't be gotten any other way. There's nothing like colorful EO embellishments to make a card unusual and unexpected.

You're Just Drunk!

Sometimes we all need to just have a good chuckle and this card does just that. When I saw this stamp, I had to get it. I haven't used it yet because I was waiting for the right moment and the right inspiration. When Eyelet Outlet came out with these brand-new Liquor Brads, I knew this was the exact time to debut the stamp.

In creating this card, I layered several pink and purple cardstock pieces on top of a unicorn themed cardstock as the base.

The middle of the card has the stamped sentiment that says, “Life is not a fairy tale. If you lose your shoe at midnight, you're drunk!” How absolutely hilarious is that…because it’s true!

The sentiment is surrounded by two of the new Liquor Brads along with a spilled wine glass from the Wine Brads.

The bow on the shoe is detailed with a section of the Fancy Long Bling.

The outside of the card is highlighted with four Heart Bumpy Bling.

I hope you got a chuckle out of this card as much as I did.

Oh, and by the way, if you happen to see my lost shoe, please send it back to me.

We're always excited when Eyelet Outlet releases new brads in the store! See all the newly released brads here!

We've got all your beer, wine, and now spirits available at Eyelet Outlet in our food, drink, and cooking section. I set this bar up with the Vodka, Whiskey, and Gin brads from the new Liquor brad set, and I also added some of our beer brads and a glass of wine from the wine brad set. And since this is a bar in a shower, I had to add our liquid soap brad, too!

Thanks for stopping in and stay tuned over the next few days as our talented Design Team introduces creative ways to use all the new products.

Picnic Time!

It's time for a picnic and I've got a great basket of goodies for it in today's card. The die used for this makes a picnic basket with a hidden message. The lovely pink check pattern featured as the lining is made with strips of Checked Washi Tape-Pink. It looks so great as the basket liner! To achieve this, just cover plain white cardstock with the washi tape and then cut it out with shape dies. On the front, I've used Wine Brads and Grape Brads. A Cherry Brad decorates the bow.

The hidden message slips out of the basket. I decorated it with Mini Ant Brads. The handles and the message tab are held in place with Pink Pearl Brads. They are perfect for any kind of outdoor theme but the picnic theme really makes them shine! This one is as fun to give away as it is to receive.

Wine Tags

I live in the South where it is a traditional to always bring a hostess
gift when invited to someone's home. This could be anything
from a freshly backed loaf of bread, flowers or more
commonly a bottle of wine. I have always liked to dress the bottle up
a little more festive when gifted. Plus you can make
a batch of these tags and even give them as the hostess gift.

I started out with some manila tags from Staples
and used stencils to help lightly color the background. for this
I used Oxide inks. I used a package of wine-related stamps
from a Tim Holtz Collection and then
I colored the images with Copic Markers.

I love the Eyelet Outlet wine brads and used them at the hole at the top.
I added some gems at the top also from Eyelet Outlet.
Finally each tag has a different strip of the skinny glitter
washi tape added.

Here is your Eyelet Outlet Shopping List
Wine Brads
Skinny Glitter Washi Tape
Champagne Bling Jewels

I'll be back again next week with a new creation. In the meantime
be sure to check the blog everyday something new.

Get The Party Started!

I've got a great card for you today and it's full of Eyelet Outlet products that will certainly get the party started!

This card base is similar to the Baby Dresser card I shared with you a few weeks ago. I used the debossing tip on my Cricut Maker to give the wainscoting effect on bottom portion of the card.

I used a brick pattern fill for the back of the bar and the tap and other images are from Cricut. I used the wine bottles and wine glass from the Eyelet Outlet Wine Brads set and also the beer mugs from the Beer Brads set.

If you are also a Cricut crafter and you'd like to recreate this card, I've shared the file on my Cricut profile in the Cricut Community in Design Space. Here's a direct link to the file and I've also linked the Eyelet Outlet products you will need.

Roses Are Red...

Eyelet Outlet has released some new brads and the Design Team is especially excited about these new rose brads!  There's red, pink, and pink and white variegated ones in each package.  Today I've used the red ones for a funny take on a familiar rhyme!

Next to my vase of roses are the popular wine brads and a few red heart brads to top things off.  Thanks for stopping in today and come back soon!

Date Night

I believe the key to a happy marriage is laughter. For that matter, laughter is the key to a happy life in general.  When I saw the sentiment I used on today's project, I had a hearty laugh and I am certain my husband will too when he receives this Valentine.

This little interactive card is called a peek-a-boo slider card.  I learned the technique from Jennifer McGuire on YouTube and adapted the measurements in a Cricut Design Space file to make with my Cricut.  The font of the card features a little window with "date night" penciled in on the calendar for Valentine's Day.  The Eyelet Outlet wine bottle and wine glasses are surrounded by some of our enamel hearts and some sticky backed bling in the center of the flowers.

As  the card opens, the magic happens and the picture in the window changes to a different picture altogether!

Here's a little video of the card in action!

If you're a Cricut crafter and would like to give this particular card a try, I've shared the file on my Cricut Profile.  You can also see Jennifer McGuire's YouTube video for details on making this type of card with your paper trimmer and round punch.

Chillaxin' at the Beach

Happy Sunday and welcome to a day at the beach! Since I can't make a trip to my happy place, I decided to make a beach scene I wish I could live in! I really enjoyed making this project and it was made extra special with Eyelet Brads and Washi Tapes!

I used the Spellbinder's July Small Die of the Month to make the woman, towel, bag and hat. Her floral swimsuit and matching tote were made with Flower Washi Tape. I first put a strip of the washi on white cardstock and then I cut the pieces with the dies. The flowers are just the perfect size for these pieces.

The water in this background couldn't have been easier. I used two strips of Water Washi Tape. It looks so realistic doesn't it? Then I cut the sand out in kraft cardstock and added texture with fine tipped black and white pens. I attached the lady to the sand and then set the Shell Brads and the Wine Glass Brad.

I applied the sand and lady to the card base overlaying the Water Washi. Then I added two Flip Flop Brads and the Wine Bottle Brad. I added the final sentiment to finish the card.

Spring & Wine - A Great Combination!

Hey everyone! It's Janet and with spring in full bloom, I'm looking forward to longer days and time to sit on the porch with a favorite glass of wine. This thought inspired me to create today's card. I started by picking out the Wine Washi Tape and two other coordinating washi tapes (see linked list below). I used Cricut Design Space to cut a red mat and white card front. I also found the hello sentiment with the arrow and created a shadow for it. Since the sentiment was small, I cut the hello script and the arrow from white and metallic vinyl. When something is too small to be cut successfully out of paper, vinyl is a great alternative.

After placing the washi tapes, I added three paper flowers and secured them with a wine bottle brad from the Wine Brad set. I also used the red wine glass brad from the set and placed it near the sentiment. I added silver and blue glitter enamel dots and a small heart enamel dot to balance everything out.

I just love this card and how cheery and fun it is. This is perfect for someone who shares your love of wine.

Let's get our Fishing Rules straight!

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! Leslie here, sharing a fun Father's Day card FULL of awesome brads and of course some washi tape! Yep, Father's Day will be here before we know it and we need to get our Fishing Rules straight beforehand, lol! ;)

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base from shimmery black cardstock. I built a little beach scene using Sky Washi Tape-Wide and Water Washi Tape for the background. I printed the Fishing Rules sign on kraft cardstock, adhered it to the background, and embellished it with
Fishing Lure Brads, a Fishing Pole Brad, Trout and Bass Brads, a Wine Brad (don't laugh - I didn't have any beer brads and the wine bottle looked like it could pass for a beer bottle, lol!), a Seagull Brad and Shell Brads. I layered the background panel on kraft cardstock which gave it a nice contrast against the black card base.

I embellished the inside panel with strips of kraft and black cardstock, adhered a stamped and die cut sentiment, and layered it on kraft cardstock.

Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

Cheers to You Mom!

Here's a fun card for Mom made in the Slimline style. I tried a technique that Lauren Bergold on the Design Team has done which is to cover chipboard letters with washi tape. She had done a Dad card a while back using this technique and the Beer Washi and matching Beer Brads. I decided to try this for Mom and used the Wine Washi and Wine Brad Set and the Grapes Brad Set.

I thought it would be fun to try coating the letters with an acrylic varnish. It worked! And now the letters have some nice shine which unfortunately doesn't show in the photos. I thought the washi might bubble or pull away from the chipboard but none of that happened.Think of the possibilities that could be used with this technique? I am going to try crackle medium and snow pen for a cool winter look next! You could coat the letters with varnish and sprinkle fine glitter on them too. I'm sure there are lots of things that could work on the Washi covered letters.

Have you tried the Slimline card size yet? If not, give it a try. And don't forget to visit Eyelet Outlet for a selection of washi tapes, brads and bling to make your cards special!

I Believe In Wineicorns!

Hi everyone! I'm not a big unicorn fan but I am a huge WINECORN fan! Now that's something I can believe in!

Hope you enjoy this one using the Unicorn & Rainbow Brads as well as the Wine Brads and some Clear Sequins from the store to add some sparkle. I used a Darice Unicorn embossing folder with some Really Rainbow Designer Paper from Lawn Fawn. Super fast, fun and simple! Hope you enjoy it!

Toasting Your Engagement!

Hello everyone! It's my first post for Eyelet Outlet and I couldn't be happier to be here with you. Hopefully you joined us over at the Columbus Scrap & Stamp Show yesterday on Facebook. If you haven't gotten a chance to visit the page, go do it! Each vendor presented a 15 minute video about their store. There are lots of sales including one for Eyelet Outlet.

My card for you today was one that I made for our presentation at the show. This is a 5 x 7 card. I made the brick background with texture paste and a stencil. I dabbed the bricks with red and gray oxide inks so that they'd look a little aged. At the top you'll see some of the pretty bird washi tape from Eyelet Outlet. This worked well because my stencil wasn't big enough to cover the whole panel.

The silhouette is from Cricut Design Space. I knew I wanted the wine glasses and wine to sit on the table so I measure the glasses and made two rectangles to represent them. Then I sized the silhouette so that the silhouette and the glasses would be proportional. The place mat is a stamp that happened to be the right size. I stamped it on white, colored it red and used white gel pen to draw the pattern in. After it was fussy cut, I glued it on the table and added the wine glasses and bottle from the Wine Brads set. You could easily draw your own place mat if you don't have a similar stamp.

I embossed the sentiment, matted it and used two of the darling Heart Enamel Dots on it. I looped some silver cording before putting the sentiment on top. I had the paper bow in my stash. I had made it eons ago so I was happy to finally find a place for it!

Thanks for stopping by. I can't wait to give this to a newly engaged couple. Let me know what you think!

Wine (Tape) is the Answer!

Especially if the question is, "How can I make beautiful, fun, slightly silly, wine-themed cards really quickly?!" Because our brand new Eyelet Outlet Wine Washi Tape was custom designed to pair perfectly with our fabulous Wine Brads, as well as our cool new Grape Brads. Just stamp --or in my (Lauren's) case, computer generate-- a snarky sentiment and you are practically done already. See?

I love that the Grape Brads come with all three varieties... red, green and purple... in each packet. As for the Wine Brads, you get bottles and glasses of both red and white. Which is super-useful! For my first card I used the Wine Tape to create a fun patterned paper for the lower half of my card. Then added the brads within my diecut sentiment panel.

For my second card, I used the Wine Tape as more of an accent, so I only applied one strip, neatly set off with some Skinny Gold Tape. I used nice tall letter stickers for "Age" which I flanked with glasses from the Wine Brads set, plus bunches of red and green Grape Brads. The small Heart Pearls are a nice accent at the top, but also... they cover a distracting bit which was part of this slightly distressed patterned paper! ;)

Thanks for visiting today and CHEERS to you!
