Good Donut

Memes often provide great inspiration for my cardmaking. Such is the case with today's project. These darling ladies are Cricut images.

This fun interactive card base is called a Hide & Seek card. There's a little mechanism involved that causes the sentiment you see on the front to disappear as the card opens.

When the card is fully open the mechanism then reveals another message at the bottom of the card. I embellished the inside of my card with a couple of donut brads and an enamel heart from Eyelet Outlet.

Here's a video of the card in action.

If you are also a Cricut crafter, I've shared the file for this card (and several other versions of Hide & Seek cards) with the Cricut Community on my Cricut Profile.

Donut Even....

Happy Saturday Everyone!!

Is there anyone out there that doesn’t LOVE donuts? If so, I haven’t met them yet. If you ask me, I think they should be their own food group. 😊

As you can see, I was totally inspired by the ever-so-popular DONUT this week.

I created this extremely unique card, which is called an Interlocking Square card, by hand scoring and cutting out the design and layering different types of cardstock to give it stability.

On the front of the card, are six “windows” that pop open.
Each window is decorated with a Donut Brad pop-dotted up for extra dimension.

Inside each window, each Blue Blinged out box and on the inside of the card is the coordinating Donut Washi Tape!! How fun is that?!?!

But wait!  It gets even better!  Did you know Eyelet Outlet also carries the cutest matching stamps that totally bring everything together????

The sentiment on the inside "I donut know what I'd do without you" and the adorable donut stamp are from the Donut Stamp Set which was specifically designed with these brads and washi tape in mind!!

I. CAN'T. EVEN. ON. THE. CUTENESS.

This card was such a blast to make. Hope you enjoy!

I’m off to get me a chocolate donut! 😊

To My Sweet Heart!

Hello EO fans! I've been having so much fun making Valentine and love cards in January! I with there was more time between Christmas and Valentine's Day. It's challenging to get as many cards done as I'd like. One way to make my cards less time consuming is to take advantage of EO brads, washi, and bling.

Today's love card features sweet donut heart treats decorated with all kinds of embellishments for texture. I cut out the heart donuts and shaped them from the back so they would appear to be dimensional instead of being flat. Then I decorated them with polymer clay sprinkles. I love EO's Donut Washi Tape and truthfully I built the card around it. I applied it to make top and bottom borders. Additional texture was added using an embossing folder on champagne colored shimmer card stock. Once applied to the A2 card base, I added the hearts using foam tape to help hold the puffy donut shapes in place.

Now for the fun part! I went to work using EO's Heart Brads, Donut Brads, Pink Swirl Bling, and Pearl Sticky Back Hearts to decorate the card. These embellishments all add even more texture and color. It's quite pretty and it almost looks edible!

A Sweet Birthday by Janet

Hi everyone! An ideal afternoon for me involves a good book, a spot of tea or cup of coffee and a sweet. I was happy to find that it was easy to combine these favorites into a fun birthday card for you today.

I thought the tea and book sticker was a great place to start. I added a Donut Brad and a Fork Brad. I also added a thin foiled Happy Birthday sentiment strip.

Next I added a 3D number background paper to a white A2 card base and added two stripes of Book Washi Tape. I cut some brown cardstock in strips for borders and then placed the sticker on foam tape and on the card. Then I added three Black Matt Finish Enamel Dots.

Thanks for stopping by today. Please visit the store for all your brads, washi tape, bling and paper flowers!

A Donut Thank You!

Hello, Eyelet Outlet fans! I hope you've had a great week! The Saturdays sure seem to be rolling around quickly these days! Leslie here, sharing a donut-themed thank you card featuring our Donut Brads, Donut Washi Tape and Light Pink Enamel Dots! I LOVE these brads and coordinating washi tape - they make such fun cards!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base and layering panel from white cardstock. I embellished the layering panel with alternating stacked strips of light and medium pink cardstock, and Donut Washi Tape between each strip. I stamped the sentiment on the next to the last strip in brown ink, added three Donut Brads, and then adhered the panel to the card base. I added some Light Pink Enamel Dots to complete the card front.

I cut the inside panel from white cardstock and embellished it with a strip of Donut Washi Tape and a strip of medium pink cardstock, stamped the sentiment in brown ink and layered the panel on the medium pink cardstock.

Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

Be Mine!

Valentines are some of my (Lauren's) favorite cards to make, especially since I have a niece whose birthday is February 14th. Like me, she loves lots of color and sparkle, so I have pulled out all the stops for this card and used eight different Eyelet Outlet brad styles with ten varieties of (pink!) washi tape!

I started by choosing a center point on my 6" square card to be the connection for my starburst of different tapes. Then I somewhat randomly layered a bunch of my favorite Valentine-friendly designs, concentrating on those which had lots of pink in them, including: Tiny Heart TapeGlitter Heart TapeGlitter PinkMacaron WashiUnicorn TapeFoil Rose TapeHeart Arrow TapePink Dot WashiChecked Pink Tape and Gold Foil XO Tape, which is technically not at all pink, but worked well anyway.

Then I added my diecut heart, a Hello Kitty cut-out, and glitter alphabet sentiment over the place where all of the tapes met. Finally, it was time to add the brads. Again, I went mostly by color, but luckily there were lots of things that matched which I know Miss Riley loves, such as: Heart BradsDonut Brads, a starfish from the Sea Shore Brads, the pink glittery tiara from the Crown and Tiara set, an Ice Cream Brad and a Stitched Flower.

Whatever color your Valentine loves best, I bet there are a bunch of fun Eyelet Outlet Brads and Washi Tape Styles that will coordinate perfectly! ♥

wishes you a very
Happy Valentine's Day!

Seriously. No decaf.

I (Lauren) am a big fan of coffee in real life and of Eyelet Outlet Coffee Brads for making coffee-themed cards. Like this one:

I used Walnut Stain Distress Ink to stamp the super-fun Coffee Lady and snarky sentiment. I added a Heart Pearl to the coffee mug and a decorative border of Coffee Cups from the Coffee Brads set, paired with Donut Brads. I matted my corner-rounded panel on a background of Donut Tape and a mat of the darkest brown before adding the whole thing to a white A7 card.

Be sure to check out the Eyelet Outlet Online Store and visit the Idea Gallery for lots more inspiration!

Feeling Sloth?

If you're like me, it feels like the two biggest tools to get through the day is my coffee and a sweet treat. That unfortunately ends up making me feel a little slothy! And that's the inspiration for today's card. This one features a cute sloth from the new Sloth and Koala Brads Set hanging on my coffee stir stick along with my treat. But it's a hole food right? No problem! Ha, ha!

Along with the sloth brad, I used a piece of the super cute Sloth Washi Tape which I matted on green cardstock. This is a great way to get a smooth washi tape result on a "bumpy" card like this with a die cut as the background. I also included three black pearls from the Black Pearls Multi Pack. I happen to be out of the Donut Brads at the moment but that would really be awesome on this card.

Here's a little closer look at the sloth, tape and pearls.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by today for a little slothy fun!

Donut Worry

Sometimes it's difficult not to worry, but let me encourage you to try with this card featuring a box full of delicious donuts. Eyelet Outlet's donut brads look good enough to eat, don't they?

I got this paper quite some time ago at Hobby Lobby, but had forgotten about it.  I'm glad I remembered it, because doesn't it pair perfectly with the donut brads?

The little box is from the Cricut image library and I sliced the window into the original image and added a piece of acetate to it.  The font I used on the sentiment is called "Chasing Hearts."

Thanks for stopping in today.  Stay safe and healthy, friends!

Here I used our popular donuts with matching washi.

We also sell a duo in the barn yard, wine, beer, tools, cardinal,
and sunflower themes.  More are just around the corner.

You Donut Look Old

I enjoy humorous cards, especially birthday humor, so today's card is exactly that: a humorous birthday card.

You're old...
but you DONUT look it!

I can think of a friend or two that I could send the card to. ;)

I didn't have any Balloon Brads in my stash, but I wanted a balloon on my card. Not to worry - the Ornament Brad looks like a balloon when it's turned upside down, especially if you add a string to it.

Now, remember,
you're never too old
to play with Eyelet Outlet products.

Sweet Sweet Wishes!

I will admit it. I have a sweet tooth. I absolutely love donuts! Cookies! Cupcakes! Yum! Yum! And of course a good cup of coffee (or glass of milk) tastes really good with those sweets!

Soooo... maybe it's my sweet tooth talking, but I immediately fell in love with the Pink Foil Sweet Washi Tape at Eyelet Outlet! I received it this week along with 20+ other rolls of Washi Tape and some brads too. Oh how I love being on the Eyelet Outlet design team!

Of course I had to play with the new Washi Tape... because I love Washi Tape as much - maybe even more - than I love sweets!

Eyelet Outlet Products:

Now, let's head to the local donut shop and have a donut together, what do you say? They'll have free wifi there so while we hang out, we can take a peek at the Eyelet Outlet store and see what other goodies we find that we might "need" to get.

We go Together Like... (Pick One)

One of my favorite Eyelet Outlet Clear Stamp sets has definitely got to be the Donut Stamps, and as much as I love the donut-related stamps in that set, for me (Lauren) the most useful stamp might just be the one that says, "We Go Together Like..." because there are just SO MANY ways to use it and so many pairs of Eyelet Outlet brads that make it work! Here are a few right now:

One of my favorites of the New May 2018 Brad Sets are the Jeans and Tee Shirt Brads. In each pack you get six pairs of denim blue trousers and six shirts of assorted colors, so they are super versatile!

The Chicken and Waffle Brads are also new, and again, they are just so fun you want to use them over and over. Although I feel I should probably warn you that, if you're anything like me, the Chicken and Waffle Brads may cause cravings for actual chicken and/or waffles, so please crave responsibly! :)

Neither the Coffee nor Donut Brads are new, but they never stop being AWESOME, imo! You'll have noticed that I've essentially made the same 3.5x5" mini card for each of these designs, using a fun reproduction library card and polka dot patterned paper in coordinating colors.

I've used the same two tapes: Chevron Washi and one of the black and white Pattern Skinny Tapes on top of torn bits of dictionary paper that relate to the brads. In this case, I've used a Chicken Brad and a Rooster Brad on top of the definition for "Hen".

And finally I've combined some bacon and an egg from our Breakfast Brads (the packets also have slices of toast!) on top of the definitions for various egg-related words.

Of course this idea would work for pretty much ANY combination of brads you can imagine, so I hope you'll be inspired to make your own versions! ♥
