Saturday

The smoke from Canada made it to Minnesota, we stayed indoors all day.

We had several naps through out the day.

For supper I made baked potatoes and steak for me and salmon for Far Guy... there is enough leftover for lunch.  Far Guy doesn't have much of an appetite.

I crocheted for a bit, and did some laundry.

My brothers came over and mowed the lawn on two mowers so it went fast. My baby brother put out some ant traps for me outside.  She who sees robins first put some flavored water in the fridge and refilled the box that is on a shelf that I can reach.  We had a nice visit with them all!

Potato Salad and a project

I made potato salad...what is the 4th of July without potato salad?  Naturally I made too much...you know..using up those last couple of lonely potatoes.

My brothers had no plans so I asked them over for supper.  Added some of Andy's pulled pork, fruit and the gals brought coleslaw and peaches for dessert.   It was a perfect 4th of July meal.

I finished sorting through the photos that my Mom left for me and I put them in an album along with the photos that I rescued from an old album that Mom had made where the photos kept sliding out.

Now the photos are sorted and safely inside pockets.  Yeah me!

June the Snowbank

My brothers are telling me that perhaps June should be called July or August.

June is mighty big this year.  It will be awhile before she is gone.    Care to guess what day she will be completely gone?   I will mail something to the US or Canada to the person who guesses the day June totally melts.   So guess a day if you wish.   I will keep a list of guesses here....you have until Monday night to enter a guess!

We had a busy day making a grocery list and meal plans.  Wally world was totally out of eggs.  My baby brother was in Costco and brought us some.  Oh and I also had a nap.  We are mostly settled in again.   My baby brother, his bride and Baxter visited late in the afternoon.  Poor Baxter had Kennel cough but he is feeling much better.  It must be a bad year for Kennel cough as Aurora (Noah's Dog) and Little Elvis both had it and have since recovered.

My Dad will be in the Nursing Facility getting stronger and doing physical therapy for the next few weeks, our hope is that he will get strong enough to go back home...we will see.   Dad is 95 years old, his UTI is all cleared up.  He is somewhat confused which is normal for an elderly person who has been moved from their home.   I will visit him soon.  My brothers one or the other has been there every day.

Snowy day

We had a quiet snowy day here in the woods.  I did a couple of loads of laundry and cleaned the jets in the whirlpool tub…dishwasher soap and really hot water and let the jets run for about twenty minutes followed by a cold water rinse.

Both of my brothers and their wives visited and Baxter who was a bit shy to begin with…but he warmed up after a few treats.  So good to see them all again.

We were not supposed to be in the blizzard here but it snowed and blowed.

My other baby brothers wife “she who sees robins first” shared some photos of the road out of here.  No one is going anyplace until the snowplow goes.

It is wicked out there.

Looking toward Steve and Jo’s house.  Over the years we have seen this road being a sea of snow many times.  It was one of the reasons we moved our mail box.

Far Guy spoke to his sister and her family via FaceTime. His sister is only awake for very short times and then she drifts off to sleep.

We hope the roads are cleared in the morning, we will see. Another storm is coming in early next week.
