Birthdays

Today our oldest daughter Trica is 50.   Hard to believe that she is that old.

I believe this photo was taken in 2006.  Savannah, Trica, Paige, My Dad and Maddie.

Maddie's birthday was yesterday!  Maddie was 24 years old.  We visited her via facetime, she likes her new job.  Fun to get caught up with her.

Maddie and Chance...2008 I think.  The walking stick she is holding is a Diamond Willow Branch that Far Guy debarked and made into a walking stick...one for each of our Grands....he uses a wood burning tool to engrave their names on the walking sticks.

Wistful Wednesday: Birthdays

This is birthday week at our oldest daughter’s house.

She is 46 today.  Hardly seems possible that we have a child approaching 50 years old.

Trica 14 or 15 years old

This was Trica when she was about 14 years old, it was the year of the orange hair.

It was Paige’s birthday last week …she was 19 that hardly seems possible either.

I decided to see if I could find a photo of  Miss Paige when she was 14.

Paige is 14 (2)

I found one!  Happy Birthday Miss Paige!!  I have no recent photos of her…maybe soon.  We talk to her on the phone but have not seen her since November.

It was Maddies’s birthday yesterday.  She turned 20.

Maddie 2012 14 years old

I found a photo of her when she was 14 also. Most of the photos I take of her have Mikey in them now…I will take a photo of her soon.

Happy Birthday girls!

Seventeen and Forty-Three

It was birthday week at our oldest daughters house.

Maddie is seventeen.  I was there in the Intensive Care Unit when she entered this world and it seems like just yesterday or the day before.

Maddie is seventeen

She was born the day before her Mother’s Birthday.

Maddie was having a party.  A whole bunch of her friends were coming over to help her celebrate.  I heard that some of her friends had already filled her bedroom with balloons.

I am not sure how Trica will spend her 43rd birthday…most likely recuperating from a houseful of teenagers.

We went for ice cream because someone said “I can sit in a car for an hour or two just as good as I can sit at home.”  When my husband makes a date with someone he likes to keep it no matter what.  He promised to be really good for the rest of the weekend.  I already vetoed the Train Show that he had a thought or two about attending.  He will be staying home and resting and drinking fluids (water).  He has started calling me “The Gestapo.”

Birthday Girls

April is birthday month at our oldest daughters house.

Paige’s birthday was earlier in the month ..she is twelve now.

Paige April 2011 Paige

Maddie’s birthday was yesterday..one of those milestones..thirteen.

Maddie April 2011 Madison

Trica’s birthday is today..she is 39.  It seems like only last month that she was having colic and kept me awake for six months…and only yesterday that she was a teenager herself.

Now she is the Mother of girls 14, 13 and 12..and I smile…and think about teenage shenanigans..and I smile again:)

Birthday Girls

Our eldest daughter and our second granddaughter have birthdays one day after the other.   They are 26 years apart..Maddie was 12 this year and our daughter is now..ahemm..38.   Uffda that makes you feel a tad old..
Maddie loves horses..this was one of her very first horse rides..she was absolutely thrilled! (Thank you Amanda and Leah!)  She talked about this horse ride for years!

Last Summer she spent a week at my sisters really learning how to ride.  Maddie would like nothing better than to have a horse..unfortunately they live in town.
Her Mother was also a horse nut, she eventually did get her own horse when we moved from the city to the country.   These photos I found recently..Farrah and Trica during a 4 H share the fun at the local county fair one year.  I don't think the horse was so thrilled with all the activity..but she survived.

Happy Birthday Girls!  I hope your dreams of horses and a place in the country come true someday.  I am sure that their almost shared birth date has something to do with their love of horses..as no one else in the family seems to be bitten by the horse bug...well..except for me..you don't suppose I am responsible for all this dreaming and wishing about horses do you? :)
