PussyCat: Agent of S.C.O.R.E. "Mirthful Misadventures of a Naughty Nonsensical Nymphet!"

If Austin Powers had a sister in the Swingin' 60s, she would have been...
...our favorite, funtastic, femme Agent of S.C.O.R.E.!

This tale originally appeared in Stag Annual #3 (1966), but this is from the one-shot PussyCat (1968) that reprinted her stories from various "laddy" magazines published by Martin Goodman, who also owned Marvel Comics.
The writer and artist are officially-unknown, but the scripter is probably Stan Lee or Larry Lieber, and the artist(s) probably include Stan Goldberg, Al Hartley, and Bill Ward.

The Origin of the Golden Age Black Cat Conclusion

No time to talk, just dive in...
Well, that synopsizes what happened in Part One pretty well.
Back to the action...
The Black Cat WILL return in the near future!
Note: the scans for this two-parter were from microfiche instead of a scanned comic, so the quality isn't up to our usual standards.
(Of course, if someone has an unslabbed copy of this incredibly-rare comic and can either scan it or loan it to us to scan...)

MORE Comics Coming to Femmes Fantastique!

Due to an astounding number of hits to the previous comics entries on this blog, we're expanding the presence of fictional females like Phantom Lady (above) to include at least one comics story per week (or more, if we can fit them into our production schedule).

Fear not, we won't neglect the flesh and blood embodiments of female perfection, aka Femmes Fantastique, we've been featuring all along!
They'll be here too.  ;-)

TARA: QUEEN OF THE SPACE PIRATES in "Key of the Cuchin Van"

We continue the space-spanning saga of Tara, Queen of the Space Pirates with this tale from Wonder Comics #18.
There was no origin story, but the splash pages usually gave a brief set-up for new readers.
The Grand Comics DataBase lists Gene Fawcette, who did the two previous stories, as the penciler/inker, but it looks like fellow Wonder Comics artist Jerry Scott, who used a more standardized layout and looser inking style.

PussyCat: Agent of S.C.O.R.E. in "Merry Mixed-Up Miss"

Didn't know Austin Powers had a sister, did you?
Actually, he doesn't.
Pussycat preceded Austin by several decades, but we'll save the background for our next entry.
Enjoy this titillating tale, written by Stan Lee and drawn by Wally Wood and Bill Ward!
...for now!
But, Pussycat will return...

TARA: QUEEN OF THE SPACE PIRATES in "Eight Hands of Tenslith"

We continue the space-spanning saga of Tara, Queen of the Space Pirates with this tale from Wonder Comics #17.
There was no origin story, but the splash pages usually gave a brief set-up for new readers.
Art was, again, by Gene Fawcette, one of the better illustrators of the period, who usually penciled and inked his sci-fi, horror, and good-girl material (or strips that combined them like Tara) for Fiction House, Avon, and Better.
BTW, the cover for this issue features characters from the premiere Tara story that appeared in Wonder Comics #15.  You can see the cover, along with Tara's first appearance HERE.
