A Girl Needs Options

I decided to try another card for the Bombshell's Ms March Bingo Challenge.  I thought butterflies, but somehow I ended out with a hot rod.  lol...I don't know, it happens.

This time I tried my bingo with hot rods, pink, free, die-cuts, and pearls.

Being I had to use pink and hot rods, it had to be a girly card.  I know some guys like to drive pink hot rods, but I feel it's a girly card.  The image I colored is from Just Ink Lined.  I used my water and regular color pencils to color in my image.  Two different die-cuts were used.  Some pearls around the card.  I used different size pearls...just because I liked the way they looked.  Very simple.

The inside....

Big Bike

I'm SO ready for spring.  The warm weather to tease, then the cold weather again...ugh!  Just want it to stay 70 and sunny for awhile.

Anyway, I made a card for the Bombshell Stamps Bingo Challenge.  Ms Leslie is a great friend and I wanted to support her as Ms March over at Bombshell.  If I have time, I might make another for this bingo challenge.

I decided to go with the bottom row with this card...bikes, blue, pearls, stitching, and embossing.  I got them all covered.

The Big Bad Bike stamp is from Unity and it's a big stamp at 4.5"x6".  I used granite embossing powder for the bike.  It actually has some pretty glitter effects.  I went with the faux stitching, since I didn't feel like getting my sewing machine out of the closet, changing thread and all that good stuff.

Pearls with a bike image didn't sound right, but under the sentiment, they fit perfectly and looked great.  I almost went with "A girl needs options", but decided on this sentiment instead. The last element for the bingo to be complete was the color blue.  I went with all shades of blues.

Here's the inside.  There are some great bingo elements, to make some amazing cards.

Birthday for Dad

My dad's birthday is coming up and I knew actually what stamp I had to use.  My dad has been in the snack business forever.  Halloween was great around our neighborhood.  My dad would hand out little bags of chips, the next street over was the Hostess guy and we would get Hostess snacks from him.  Total awesomeness!!  Anyway...my dad's card.  I decided to follow the challenge over at Mod Squad "Cut It Out".  No die-cuts allowed.

I cut out the orange polka dot banner from this paper by Heidi Swapp.

I cut out the top middle piece from this paper, also from Heidi Swapp for my card.

Here's the front of the card.  I used Unity "Pun" Stamps - All that and a bag of chips for my image.  I thought it was perfect for my dad.  I fussy cut the image with the sentiment.  Added Stickles around the sentiment.  I decided to pop up the image from the background.

The inside needed to match.  I found this equation for the perfect chip on the internet to add a little more humor.  Of course a happy birthday sentiment needed to be stamped inside.  A pretty good card for the old man

The Male Room Vintage Challenge

It's time for another challenge at The Male Room.  For the next two weeks, we want to see vintage creations that are masculine.

My brother's girlfriend needed a card for a friend who is a farmer.  I found this beautiful image at Just Ink Lined called tractor.  I'm never sure what is considered vintage, all I know is..... this tractor is old. Old=Vintage  That's my thought process and I'm sticking to it!! :oD

The image was colored by my water color and regular colorpencils.  After coloring, I sponged the sky with some ink. It couldn't be a farmer's card without some burlap.  There is actually a black satin ribbon on the bottom of the image, the black cardstock is just on the sides and top of the image.  Thought it would give it more texture with a soft ribbon against the rough burlap.

The inside somewhat matching the outside, with a simple happy birthday sentiment stamped.

Hope to see your vintage creations at The Male Room!

Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog-#26 Buttons and Bows

Good Monday to everyone!!  Yes, I know it's Monday, but try to be postive here!  It's another wonderful challenge at Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog.  For the next 2 weeks, we want to see buttons and bows on your projects and as always, there must be stamped/digi image or sentiment on your creation.

We have two wonderful sponsors for this challenge.

Stitchy Bears Digi Outlet winner will receive $10 gift certificate.

Fresh Squeezed Stamps winner will receive the Friendly Folk Stamp set.

This challenge I found difficult, not the buttons and bows part, but the using what was already stamped for me to create something.  I created a card using Fresh Squeezed stamp set Trendy Triangles.  (We just found out the store is closing and this stamp set is gone).

I decided to color the triangles to match the dp I used, then fussy cut them out.  This triangle theme just emerged.  The birthday sentiment is attached to a cardstock covered mini chipboard pennant.  I decided the pennant was perfect for the buttons and bows.

Here's the inside.  The sentiment is from MFT Birthday Sentiments set.

Hope to see your creation in our challenge!

Birthday Invitation

We are celebrating another birthday in this crazy house.  Ethan turned 9 yesterday....where does the time go.  We made little invitations to invite some neighborhood kids over for pizza and cupcakes.  Ethan picked out the stamp he wanted, which was a hard choice.

He finally decided on this Unity - Balloons to You little image for the front.  It's perfect since today is Friends with Flair at Unity.  I actually won this stamp from my blog friend Ms Julie at Muddy Paws Inky Fingers.  I believe it was from her blog anniversary blog hop last year, which is going on right now...how perfect. Check it out!

Ethan wanted each balloon colored a different color.  It was a simple and easy image to coloring.  SO happy he went with this image!!!  I die-cut two off white tags, one for the front and one for the back.  That way I could use a bigger tag for the center to add some color.  Tie some ribbon and twine, you got yourself an invitation.

Here's the back.  I used Stampin' Up Stamp Please Come.

The Male Room - Color Challenge

Hello and welcome to another challenge at The Male Room.  For the next two weeks, we are having a color challenge.  We want to see manly projects with blue, green and brown.

I created a birthday card for the young man across the street.  Which my younger boys went to his birthday party.  Ethan picked out the image, because he thought it was cool.

The image is Lacy Sunshine Biker Bob (which is now retired). They have adorable images, so check out their shop.  I colored this cool dude with my water and regular colorpencils.  He has blonde hair, because the neighbor boy has blonde hair.  The happy birthday sentiment is from Unity - party all day.  Thought the tag shape would be fun and added some twine.

The inside matches the outside. Just had Ethan write happy birthday to his friend.

Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog #25 - Back It Up!

Good Monday!!  It's time for another challenge at Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog.  For the next two weeks, we want to see you create a project using NO PATTERN paper.  Instead, create your own background paper.

Our sponsors for this challenge :

Bugaboo Stamps will give the winner 7 images of their choice.

Eureka Stamps will give the winner 5 images of their choice.  How awesome of these sponsors!!!

I decided to work with the image Celebrating Kitty from Eureka Stamps.  Who doesn't love a cat that can party?  Anyway, I thought it would be a fun and cute image to work with.  The image is colored with water and regular colorpencils.  I tried to make the fur kinda look like fur, I think I've done better in the past.  For my handmade background, I used Stampin'Up Family Accessories stamps.  They had a birthday party hat and a little gift, that I stamped randomly on the white cardstock.

I also made this paper using alcohol inks and glossy photo paper. Which is used behind the image and sentiment. Threw some ribbon on it for color.  Simple and easy!  Will probably give this card to a kid.

Hope to see you in the Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog challenge!
